Android Radiation Counter App that uses a taped-over cell phone camera as a radiation counter. Is this possible? I don't know a lot about how CCDs work, and it's got two very positive reviews claiming it works great and one very negative review claiming it doesn't work at all.
I heard at a conference that you can use a CCD as an IR camera, except that there's usually an IR filter over it to limit it to the visible spectrum, so you have to get rid of that first. And I imagine this kind of thing could be a problem with camera phones too.
