Haunted house icon dies in elevator accident
Dennis E. Kingsolver, whose family founded the Catacombs Extreme Scream haunted house, died there Monday night in an accident involving the elevator, police reported this morning. The Kansas City, North, resident was 38.
Part of the counter weights from the elevator system broke and hit Kingsolver, killing him, police said. The haunted house has been at 1100 Santa Fe St. since 1988.
Kingsolver was president of the company that operated the annual Halloween attraction.
