Dirty Dancing

For some reason when Mother went shopping today she bought Dirty Dancing on DVD. I'm not sure why I didn't have it already, but this was my absolute favorite movie when I was five years old and I haven't seen it in years. But back then, I watched it over and over and over ad nauseum. My friends and I always tried to recreate the "lift" - albeit, very unsuccessfully. Heh. We would run off of any raised surface (beds, couches, a porch, etc) to do the big finale. LMFAO. I had both soundtracks on tape and listened to them on basically a constant loop. My very small world revolved around this movie when I was a kid.

Anyway, when we were watching it she turned to me and was all, "I can't believe we let you watch this!"

*snerk*

It is kinda true. It's like the first time you watch Grease years later and *finally* get all the innuendos. Though, I don't think I was ever fully naive to Dirty Dancing, but I certainly didn't see it through the eyes I see it with now. Heh.

And LOL, I never remembered that Patrick Swayze was so old in DD. (I looked it up: he was 35, heh.) He very well might have been my first celebrity crush, which I guess *really* set the bar for the older man celebrity loving. Heh.

I was a five year old obsessed with a thirty five year old man. LOL.

I think I just creeped myself out a little bit. I'd never done the math before, and I kinda wish I hadn't now, heh. Take it back! Take it back!

crap, movies
