Soundtrack: Dawson's Creek - Mitch Leery - Drift Away
A double-disc soundtrack of 28 songs for one of my favorite DC characters, Mitch Leery. This is easily the biggest soundtrack I've ever made - and probably the one that I've been hoarding away songs for for the longest time, heh.
This soundtrack is made up of songs that remind me of Mitch Leery. Some were used on the show, and others just feel like things Mitch might have actually listened to, or strongly connect to him somehow. I know he might not be a popular choice to make a soundtrack of, but I love him, so it's something that I've been working on for awhile now. Hopefully some other people will enjoy it too.

[Used in Capeside Revisited during Mitch's fatal crash.]

[Played over Mitch's funeral scene in The Long Goodbye]
03. 3 Doors Down - When I'm Gone [ download ]
Love me when I'm gone
[I just strongly associate this song with the death of a loved one, so it had to be included here.]
04. The Monkees - Daydream Believer [ download ]
You once thought of me // As a white knight on a steed // Oh, and our good times starts and end
[Dawson didn't pull his big dreaming personality out of thin air - he of course inherited it from Mitch.]
05. John Lennon - Imagine [ download ]
You may say I'm a dreamer // But I'm not the only one
[Again, just fitting of his dreamer personality.]
06. Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends [ download ]
Preserve your memories // They’re all that’s left you
[Just seemed really fitting due to it's wistful feeling.]

I miss the earth so much // I miss my wife
[If you've seen the movie Without Limits, you'll know exactly why I picked this song for Mitch.]
08. John Cougar Mellencamp - Small Town [ download ]
Used to daydream in that small town // Another boring romantic that's me // Married an L.A. doll and brought her to this small town // Gonna die in this small town // And that's prob'ly where they'll bury me
[Guh, this whole song just screams Mitch Leery to me.]

May you stay forever young
[Used at the end of Late when his daughter was born.]
10. The Beatles - Yesterday [ download ]
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away // Now it looks as though they’re here to stay //Oh, I believe in yesterday
[Makes me thing of what Mitch might have listened to after he split with Gale in season two.]

[Totally from his generation, and quite fitting at the same time.]

[Just a great song that fits with how his family and friends might feel after he's gone.]

[Mitch was totally had a shining light of a personality.]

In lives like these // Where every moment counts // I add up all the things that I can live without // When the one thing left is the blessing of my dreams // I can make my peace // With days like these
[Used at the end of True Love when Mitch and Gale get remarried.]

[Just another obvious death song.]

[A song for after Mitch and Gale got back together.]

But you know that when the truth is told // That you can get what you want or you can just get old // You're gonna kick off before you even get half way through // You can’t be everything you wanna be before your time
[Just a very Mitch like song, with his big dreams and short life.]

If I had only known // It was my last night by your side // I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn // And when you'd smile at me // I would look into your eyes // And make sure you know my love //For you goes on and on
[For years this song has reminded me of Gale's POV after Mitch's death.]
