Rescue Me 2x02 - Discovery

HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.

Johnny had a brotherly asskicking coming to him, abso-fucking-lutely, but THAT? MY GOD. I wasn't sure that Tommy wasn't going ot kill him there for a second. Damn. I don't hate Tommy for doing it, not at all, but I just didn't expect the fall out to be quite so ugly.

I was giggling and all with the "WHOO HOOO" until he threw him over the table and it was obvious Johnny couldn't really get up and fight back anymore. Then putting his head through the car window? DAMN. That's some serious shit.

I also kinda wish Sheila would have kicked Janet's ass. I should be appalled that Tommy threw her down, but I'm not. I still wouldn't want him to kick her ass - but Sheila? That'd be great. I mean, regardless of what's happened in the recent past, they are family and she was obvious just trying to help after Tommy shoved her onto that car. Gah. I really hate Janet. I don't hate Johnny though. Go figure. Yeah, he's totally as much to blame, but she knows he's a fucking Gavin. She knows what they're like, and what they're all capable of, so I blame her more, I guess.

And it so fucking stupid of them to be holding hands under the table in the first place. WTF? Are they retarded. I'd love to know what kind of brain damage we're dealing with here.

Heh, though I was entertained that Maggie just stayed seated while everyone else was int he brawl. Hilarious. Even more hilarious? The cut back to Pa Gavin just eating his cake all by his own self while the fight was in full swing. God, the Gavin men are BEYOND fucked up, and I kinda, totally, love them for it.

I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that Sean was the one to finally call 911 in the end. That's so fucking in-character. He was also the first one to dial it when Tommy beat the shit out of Collins on the ice. It was a great, totally understated character moment.

I think Sean would have had an asskicking coming too, Tommy totally saw him digging the cherry out of her drink, but then the Johnny thing came to a head. Not that I believe he'd ever hurt Sean as much as he did Johnny. That kind of asskickery, I believe, is reserved for family only.

For the rest of the ep:

- I love the 'gay porn screen on the side of the Brokeback' coffee travel mug. Heh. Brokeback jokes are more than a little past their funny stage, but it's Denis Leary, so I'll give it to him.

- Kenny Lou asking Johnny, in regards to Sean, "I think he's dating somebody here...you?" and Johnny being all, "NOT ME. NO DATING. ESPECIALLY NOT HERE. OR JANET. NUH UH." cracked me the fuck up. Way to look as guilty as possible, Johnny.

- Mick's smoking weed joke was of the awesome too. I loved Tommy's face, and then Mick's in return. So fucking hilarious.

- Colleen being born again was only funny for Pa Gavin's joke about Jesus loving him: "I'm glad he loves me, but that's how rumors get started." BWAH. Awesome. I hope the whole stupid plotline was for that joke, because it would be totally worth it.

That's it for now, I guess. I need to watch it again to soak it all in.
