facebook faux pas

It's time for another edition of facebook faux pas!

Recently I did a friend clean up. You know, deleting those people that never comment, getting rid of old HS stalkers, and my newest deletion idea, getting rid of friends on the edge. You know, that person that maybe you don't get along with great, but hey, your FB friends? Or maybe you were once great friends, or maybe you just know them from work/school/church/wherever and are more like acquaintances. Why delete such people?

Our society is becoming increasingly open to oversharing, blabbing, whining, venting, gushing, etc on the web. I do it myself. I'm sure none of you wanted to hear that I lost my mucus plug 2 weeks before I actually had Riley. (And now I give you a moment to vomit) But in my crazy, pregnant addled mind it seemed like a victory to be shared with everyone. But in the land of delicate friendships or acquaintances it's downright irritating. How is it that you can be friendly to the person who constantly bashes their spouse? How can you look someone in the eye after hearing that they were able to overcome that constipation? (Only a true friend, that's how!) And finally, how can you not mock someone that so willingly puts themselves out for it?

I'm sure I hurt feelings by anyone who noticed they were deleted. But trust me, in the long run, I'll be nicer to you when I have to see you in the flesh.
