I'm gonna finish Starship Troopers (Robert A. Heinlein) in a couple days. Disguised as pulp sci fi of top notch caliber, it's really a warped communist manifesto, a taut philosophical jaunt, and an excuse to use a lot of cool-sounding military jargon. One final review to come later.
Smoke and Mirrors, by Neil Gaiman. It's a collection of short fiction and poetry (I like the fiction much better than the poetry, your mileage may vary) and it is phenomenal. :)
