Garden pictures!

So since we moved into this new apartment, we've been given a lovely patio with which to... put things, basically. But being the plant nut I am, I decided to make a patio garden out there. Unfortunately, I can't really have orchids out there (they'd die in winter - I'd probably be better off putting one in a hanging box inside or something), but I ( Read more... )

OMG SO THOSE ARE THE BIRDS - man, I hear mourning doves around here all the time, now I wanna get bird feeders. ;3;

Dude, what are those freakinshly fast growing plants? And damn I want a pretty little tree, now - the Food Lion up the street has little willow stalks but zlfbdsf our yard may not be good for it. That fuchsia is just lovely, your porch is so fab.

CAT STALKER.

Yes! I heard one yesterday and thought it was a hoot owl, but then I looked over and saw one calling. The mourning doves are ground feeders, so you have to get a flat feeder (or just having finches that knock seeds down would work). A bird bath would work, too, but you have to keep them clean.

It's a mandevilla! I had no idea it would grow that fast, though, so it freaked me out a little. And willows have really invasive roots, so you'd need plenty of room and moist soil for it (s'why you usually see them by water).

She was so pretty! I hope she comes back!

They're really fun and easy to call to. |D Oh, I was wondering about a bird bath but Mom wants to get a fountain, so I may just see about a little feeder, or at the very least, something for the hummingbirds! That would be really easy to clean.

They're really cool. :o One of the things my Mom brought was like... this wooden box to plant stuff in? But the box has its own little roof over it. I wonder how those mandevilla would look in it, do they have vines? And yeah, there's two little ponds in view of my house and they have willows trees, and there's a young one in neighbor's yard in front of me (may be leftover from the willow my grandmother had there, but cut down because of the septic tank), but this isn't good soil. 8( Though some trees were recommended to us, I think prickly pear??

They are! I tried feeding hummingbirds, but didn't see any, so I took it down and put up the seed feeder anyway. :( It attracts more birds anyway |D

Aww, that sounds cute! And it would probably trail vines up the sides and onto the roof - apparently they grow all over wherever you plant them. And yeah, it has vines XD

Prickly pear are cactus! But they give fruit that's supposed to be pretty good - you can make jelly out of it!

Awww. ;3; It is better seeing other birds, though, since hummingbirds are like giant fucking bees who rarely slow down enough to show their pretty.

Yeah! I told my Mom about it and she was all "sweet deal" - only not really 'cause she was tired lmao. XD

Oh. OH I KNEW IT - yeah that's definitely not what he said, then. Man, but I'd totally eat some prickly pear. :\
