If I Weren't So Freaking Amazing I'd Have To Drink To Get This Buzz...

Alright...so I'm back.
I know, I know, it's been a while.
But I've been busy!

Saturday was my cousin's wedding, for which I was a slave to my sister's floral business. This job consists of Lisa saying things like, "Gerbera...Alstromeria...Fern...Baby's Breath..." and my passing them to her while I try not to superglue my fingers to floral tape. It take poise and the ability to hold your tongue and keep murderous thoughts at bay at 5 in the morning, when you've been up since 9 am the previous day. That's right, sports fans, we were up until 5 in the morning. And then Lisa, my mother, and I all crashed for two hours, woke when the clock that chimes the hours decided it was 7 am, got dressed for the wedding, made last minute flowers, and headed out the door in a frenzy. The wedding was at 10:30, and we got there about 9:45, started pinning and flowering everyone on the planet, and then proceeded to wait in the sweltering heat of an unairconditioned church for another 20 minutes, because the Bride was late. The wedding went splendidly, although it was fairly long. I mean, I'm Catholic, so I'm used to weddings that last like...an hour or so, but this one was an hour and a half, at least. And, it was a different rite of Catholicism, so they bless themselves a different way, receive Holy Communion a different way, and all sorts of fun things. My friend Faustina said it perfectly later, "The ceremony was rich with culture and ritual, but it would've meant a lot more if I'd understood the symbolism."
Anyway, so after the wedding, there was the reception, which was really quite pretty (we decorated) albeit haphazardly. The bridal party didn't show for two hours because they were waiting for the DJ who decided last minute not to show up and not to call and tell anyone until an hour and 45 minutes had passed. So, they finally came out and the party commenced. The first dance, due to technical difficulties, was cut very short, and from there on we were subject to the melodious sounds of the Italian Mob's music. Which, lemme tell ya, sucked.
So from there, we all went to my aunt and uncle's house for the after party, which was fun. I played volleyball with my second cousins and Uncle Chris, whom I never get to see and love being around, so that was awesomely fun. Then my cousin Laura, my second cousin Nick, and I started playing Jenga, which was interrupted when the groom started singing to the bride, but was fun nonetheless. After a while, we left, because my mother and I were dog tired and needed sleep.
Sunday I went to 10:30 Mass and then came home, curled up on the puppy's big green cushion, pulled a blanket over me, and crashed on the floor. My sister Lisa, (the pregnant one) crashed on the couch and we both slept from about...11:45 till 6 pm. And then we woke up and did nothing for the rest of the day.
Monday rolled around and I was up at 7am to go and film with my three cousins and my cousin Mary's friend, Fred. He was wicked cool. Artsy, like Mary, but cool nonetheless. Mary was making a film about WWIV based on a quote of Albert Einstein's. My cousins Laura and Matthew and I were the actors. We dressed up in these absurd costumes that were boiling hot (on a 97 degree day!) and ran around, crawled through, hid in, and ultimately fell in a swamp for a good three hours in gold masks while playing with slingshots and stuff. Good fun. Soggy, but good.
And yesterday I did nothing. Until about 7:30 when I went to play volleyball with my brother, my brother in law, and the people they play with.
Lemme tell ya, I love the game, but I'm pretty bad at it. And the people they play with are kind of jerks. So...we were playing (I was more lunging after the ball than playing) and it starts raining. Then, the hail starts, and then it begins pouring. But we played on! I tore my jeans at the crotch and had to leave, which was nice...yeah. I'll stick to family volleyball.

And tomorrow I'm scheduled for my senior portraits.
I'll be sure to let you know how they go and if you'd like a print or whatever once they get done, I'll send you one if you leave an email address or something.
Bleh.

I'm oh you tee.

You know you love me,
-Regina
