A/N: Woah, I haven't wrote in a looong time. This is my first Sum 41 fanfic so please don't bash on me. I hope you like it. I don't mention Tom in here, I just didn't feel like adding him. That sounds kind of mean but I thought it would kind of get in the way of the plot.

"Let's do this Steve," Cone said as he shook the drummer's hand.

The couple of minutes before the show is always exciting. You can hear the crowd on the other side of the curtains, yelling your band's name, waiting for you to step out. Sum 41 was back on tour and all their shows were already sold out. They played each show so far with all their heart. Putting in every single drop of effort into every night. The kids deserved everything they could give, it's what they were waiting for.

"Deryck! Where are you, we're up soon!" Cone yelled back stage, looking around for the guitarist.

Deryck walked over to Cone with a wide smile. The smile he always wore before a show. The smile he wore when he was excited and full of adrenaline.

"You ready?" Cone asked with a smile equally as wide as Deryck's.

"Let's do it!" Deryck said loudly and wrapped an arm around Cone's shoulders. "I'm so fuckin' excited!" Deryck beamed at Cone, giving him a squeeze on the arm. Deryck let go and walked over to the other side of the stage to pick up his guitar.

"You guys all ready?" one of the tech guys backstage asked.

Cone replied with a nod.

"Fuckin' ready," Deryck said.

Steve yelled back, "Hell yeah!" signaling for the curtains to drop.

They played a couple songs, full of energy, jumping around, here and there talking to the crowd.

Deryck was talking to the crowd about how fuckin hot it was when Cone noticed someone in the audience.

Todd Morse from his side project, The Operation M.D., was standing near the edge of the room, smiling up at Cone. He waved to him and gave a thumbs up.

Cone smiled back at Todd, not knowing that Deryck was talking to him.

"Cone? Are you not listening?" Deryck asked, laughing a little.

Cone looked at Deryck and replied, "Sorry, got a little distracted," and glanced back at Todd.

Deryck followed his eyes until he saw Todd. His brows furrowed as he watched Todd wave at Cone. He jerked his head back to look at Cone who was smiling at Todd. He looked at both of them in disgust. He cleared his throat loudly, getting Cone's attention. "Anyways. Let's get to the next song," he said as he glared down at Todd.

What the hell was he doing here anyways?

They played a couple more songs. Deryck kept getting distracted by how Cone was looking at Todd. It just got his stomach in knots for reasons he didn't exactly know. They finally reached the end of their set. Cone was thanking the crowd, still staring in Todd's direction.

"Thanks for coming tonight!" Cone yelled to the crowd, but mostly to Todd. He looked towards Deryck who was already walking off the stage. Cone walked off the stage towards Deryck with concern. He followed him into their dressing room and asked, "What's wrong with you tonight?"

Deryck turned around to look at Cone, looking slightly disgusted and replied, "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?"

"What are you talking about?" Cone asked, confusion taking over his face.

"You know what I'm talking about. The whole time we were on stage, you couldn't keep your eyes off, off Todd," Deryck spat, not knowing where his anger was coming from.

"What?" Cone scoffed.

"You know you were staring at him. You couldn't even tell when I was talking to you up there, and I'm standing a couple of feet away from you!" Deryck yelled.

"Dude, calm down. Why are you yelling about it?" Cone asked, trying to keep calm.

"'Cus you were paying more attention to Todd than playing your bass," Deryck replied like it was an obvious answer.

"Well, if I mess up, that's my problem. Don't worry though I won't mess up," Cone answered, walking to the mirrors as he loosened his tie.

Deryck looked at Cone as if offended. "What do you mean 'don't worry.' Of course I'm gonna fuckin worry. All you can do is stare at him and you don't even know when I'm talking to you!"

Cone, not being able to contain his anger, turned to Deryck and yelled, "Why the hell do you even care so much?"

Deryck frowned at this. Why the hell did he care?

"Huh? Why do you care if Todd's here or not?" Cone yelled even louder, moving closer to Deryck.

Deryck flinched, not used to Cone mad and yelling like this. He looked at Cone with disbelief, his lips parted slightly, eyebrows furrowed, and creases forming on his forehead.

"Now that I'm listening, you're not gonna talk?" Cone yelled again.

Deryck looked away from Cone. Holding in tears that were about to fall. He was so sensitive when people were mad or yelling at him.

Cone sighed and turned away. "I wasn't staring at him and even if I was, you shouldn't care," Cone said, his voice back to normal volume. He went back to looking in the mirror.

Steve then came in the room, picking up some of his things, going over to the mirror to get his deoderant. He then noticed all the tension in the air and asked, "You guys alright?" He looked at Cone standing in front of the mirror then at Deryck sitting on the sofa now.

"Yeah we're cool," Cone answered.

"Alright. Hey you guys gonna go to the clubs tonight?" Steve asked, completely oblivious to Deryck's silence.

"We'll catch up with you later," Cone replied.

Steve nodded and left the room.

Silence filled the room until Deryck suddenly spoke, "What if I do care?"

Cone paused his hands that were fixing his hair and turned to look at Deryck, "What are you talking about?"

Deryck licked his dry lips, keeping his gaze at his shoes and answered, "What if I do care if you were staring at Todd?"

"What?" Cone dropped his hands to his sides and looked at Deryck with confusion.

Deryck stood up from the sofa and turned to Cone.

Cone raised his eyebrows, waiting for what Deryck was going to say next.

"I do care that you were staring at Todd," Deryck said, looking right at Cone.

"What? What are you- Why?" Cone stuttered, not exactly sure where Deryck was going with this.

Deryck couldn't control his anger as he pushed Cone against the wall.

Cone hissed at the pain in his back. "What the hell D?!"

Deryck ignored him as he said in a harsh tone, "I care that you were staring at Todd. I didn't like the way he was looking at you and I didn't like the way you were looking at him."

Cone stared at Deryck's eyes and said, "Why would you care?"

Deryck rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. He laughed before he said, "Goddammit Cone. I'm fucking jealous. JEALOUS. Does that make sense to you?"

Cone kept staring, a look of disbelief on his face.

"You still don't get it?" Deryck huffed. "I'm in love with you," Deryck whisperd, his face inches away from Cone. He took a step away from Cone and said, "There, I said it. I can't make it more obvious than that." He looked at Cone, expecting something, anything for a reply. But when nothing came out of the bassist's mouth, Deryck turned away, feeling his eyes tear up, and started walking away.

Cone, finally processing what was just said, straightened himself up and called to Deryck, "Wait!"

Deryck ignored this and was about to leave the room.

Cone grabbed one of Deryck's wrists, stopping him.

Deryck froze completely from the touch. He looked at Cone's hand on his wrist and followed the arm up to look at Cone's face.

Cone looked back at him and said after a moment, "Wait."

Deryck turned his head away and pulled his arm away from Cone. "Let go of me."

Cone, frustrated at Deryck's actions, grabbed both of his wrists and pulled him back into the dressing room.

"What the fuck Cone, let go of me!" Deryck protested as Cone shoved him onto the door.

Cone dodged Deryck's punches and finally pinned his arms against the door.

Deryck tried to struggle out of Cone's grip, panting for breath. "Dude, get off-"

Cone crushed his lips onto Deryck's, squeezing his eyes shut tight.

Deryck stopped struggling at once and his jaw slackened as he slowly melted into the kiss.

Cone relaxed his face as he focused on how Deryck's lips felt against his.

They finally parted as Deryck said, "Woah."

Cone laughed and looked into Deryck's eyes.

"But what about Todd?" Deryck asked, suddenly getting a sick feeling in his stomach.

Cone replied simply, "What about him? I kissed you didn't I?"

Deryck smiled widely, a small blush forming on his cheeks.

Cone smiled back and hugged him. Wrapping his arms around Deryck "Don't do anything that'll make me yell at you again. I hate yelling."

Deryck wrapped his arms around Cones middle and placed his face on his neck and whispered, "I'm sorry, I promise I won't."

Cone smiled and placed a soft kiss on Deryck's head. "Good," he whispered back.
