[Background]

Before starting to read this part, taking a look at those links would be useful, in order to get a better understanding of the background. I didn’t include them as explanations because this wouldn’t be an efficient way.

Millenium Earl (The Antagonist of the D.Gray-Man series): http://dgrayman.wikia.com/wiki/Millennium_Earl
Innocence: http://dgrayman.wikia.com/wiki/Innocence

Lenalee Lee was born in China.Orphaned at a young age by AKUMA, she lived with her brother until the Order noticed that she was the owner of an Innocence which was later named, Dark Boots. Following this discovery the Order took her away from her brother Komui, when she was 6. Lenalee lost her memories then and to this day she still doesn't remember anything about the times when she wasn't in the Order. When she was 8, she met Kanda Yuu and mistook him as a girl. In the same year, she learned Zen Meditation from Kanda.

Around that time, she witnessed an experiment conducted on a young boy and how he died since the experiment was a failure. As a consequence of that, the boy became a Fallen One because of attempting to become an Exorcist (user of Innocence) against God's Will. She attempted to run away and (after that failed) to commit suicide many times. Each time, she got caught by the Order (Inspector Leverrier from Central appeared each time and told her repeatedly that there was no running away, which also caused her another traumatic experience.). She wasn't even allowed to die. When she was 9, she suffered from a mental illness and was confined to her bed when not training.

Lenalee suffered from her mental disease for a year, until she was 10. She was cured by the arrival of her brother, Komui Lee, who was the Science Division Chief at that time. When he told her that this was their new home, from that point in time, she gave up trying to escape or kill herself and decided to become an exorcist. As time went on and Komui became the supervisor, she became friends with the entire science division. When Lenalee was 12, she already began to help Science Division. At that time, she began to feel like she was at home more and more. Even though the effects of her trauma remained in her, she became increasingly accepting and continued attending her missions. When she was 14, Lavi and Bookman joined the Order. At that time, she stopped Kanda from killing Lavi, the same way she later did, when Kanda tried to kill Allen when she was 16.

In the beginning of the series, Lenalee's first display of her power occurred when the Order had to fight against one of the Supervisor Komui's crazy inventions, a robot named Komurin II. When Allen was taken inside the robot, she decided to act and with her boots, she was able to defeat the machine without using any special moves, since her boots had the destructive power of steel even without any other techniques. At the end of this incident, Lenalee kicked Komui together with Komurin, telling her brother to reflect on what he did, with a rather calm face.

During her first mission with Allen in the Rewinding Town (where the same day was repeated again and again because of an Innocence), Lenalee stopped Allen from jumping in to save an AKUMA which was about to self destruct. After he snapped at her asking why she had stopped him, Lenalee slapped Allen, saying that she stopped him because they were were friends. Allen had to apologize to her properly to make Lenalee talk to him again when they were going to attend another mission, which was when Allen ended up detained by the fact that he got kidnapped just as he was about to board their train. After that incident, Arystar Krory was recruited as an exorcist. As time went on, Lenalee was assigned to find Cross Marian together with Allen, Lavi, Krory and Bookman. The man was a general who refused to come back to the Order and just disappeared from their sight.

The group first went to China, to start looking for Cross. There they met Anita, who was the owner of a brothel there. After Anita explained that she was a supporter of the Order and joined their journey, Lenalee and her became really good friends. Around that time, Lenalee started having a dream about the destruction of the world, where everyone was dead and nowhere in sight. All except one person who could only be identified by his deformed hand, Allen Walker. Her last dream was even more specific as she was crying with Allen's hooded corpse laying in her lap. She didn't talk to anyone about her dreams until a night when she saw Allen in the dark, holding his left eye. Also at that time, she told Allen about her interpretation of the world and asked him what he saw when he closed his eyes and thought about the world.

Before they could start traveling to Edo aboard Anita's ship, the group got attacked by a huge number of AKUMA and Allen was literally snatched away by some of them, which made Lenalee chase after the AKUMA armada. She had a moment of hesitation because of wanting to help Anita's group, however Lavi and Krory assured her they could handle this and in the end she left in pursuit of Allen and his captor. When she managed to save Allen from those AKUMA, Lenalee and Allen witnessed an explosion. When they looked at the area closely, Lenalee was met with the sight of one of her friends, Suman Dark who had turned into a Fallen One. This lead her to have a flashback of the time when she witnessed the experiment which ended with another Fallen One. Without a second thought, she decided to save Suman with Allen. However when they reached where Suman was, he didn't reply to any of Lenalee's calls. Right at that time, Allen noticed a little girl asking for help and he got captured by Suman's Fallen form as he managed to pull the girl out to safety. When Lenalee made a move to save him, Allen asked her to help the girl instead. Lenalee accepted the request and took the girl away from the area but she still didn't want to leave Allen behind. When she came back with Lavi to find Allen, Timcampy, Allen's golem, showed her Allen's last moments. With the guilt of leaving Allen behind at that time, Lenalee shut herself from other people for a while, until Lavi finally confronted her and told her to stand up and fight.

On their way to Edo, the group is confronted by another huge group of AKUMA, this time accompanied by a level 3 as well. Right before that attack, Lenalee had asked for a hair tie from Anita, after thinking in the shower about what Lavi, said that time. That moment was one of the most significant moments to show the depth of Lenalee and Anita's friendship. After that, Lenalee finally gathered herself, enough to decide spontaneously that she would fight the level 3 AKUMA by herself. When she moved towards the location of the level 3 (Eshi), Lenalee told Lavi that it was OK because she had finally made her mind, making Lavi extremely surprised about her going to that fight for a reason like that. This lead Lenalee to one of the decisive battles of her life.

In the fight with Eshi, when she was about to loose, she had the flashback about that night with Allen, where she had talked about her dreams and her world. That was the key moment of the fight, when Lenalee decided to activate the full power of her Innocence even though she didn't have 100% synchronization yet. She was afraid of the results, yet her determination didn't waver because she remembered that Allen also pushed himself to his very limits for Suman's sake. With that in mind, she flew to the to the surface and then the skies with the decision of sacrificing herself in order to win this battle against Eshi. After making Eshi use his powers repeatedly by taking all of his attacks, Lenalee used Eshi's very own ability against him, combining them with the power of her own Innocence by also using her final technique. As her hair began to burn away because of air friction, one of the hair ties Anita gave Lenalee, fell into the sea, thus making Lenalee want to make Eshi disappear with her even more. With that ambition, Lenalee continued her attack, resulting in both her destroying Eshi and her disappearing under the dark waters of the ocean. The last thoughts she had before losing her consciousness were about Komui and herself as a little child. There she apologized to him, in tears.

When Lenalee was found by Lavi, her whole body was encased in a giant crystal, something that drove away all the creatures other than exorcists. The Bookman stated that it was a big exception, since the Innocence had never protected its user before and he considered that as a major historical event. This also resulted in making Lenalee a candidate for being the Heart of the Innocence, which was something both the Earl and the Order were looking for since the destruction of the heart would result in the disappearance of all Innocence all over the world. Before anyone except Bookman could think of anything else, the crystal around Lenalee dissolved as she regained her consciousness. When she awakened completely, the first thing she did was to ask Lavi, crying, if she still was a part of the world, which made Lavi also cry in return.

After the destruction of the Ark was prevented by Allen, Lenalee was taken to the hospital, only to have Komui crying over the loss of her long hair, claiming that it was the most beautiful hair in the world, thus making Lenalee very embarrassed. In those moments, though, Lenalee seemed to be trying to mask the happiness she felt because of her brother being there. Still, Miranda pointed that to Lenalee straightforwardly, making the younger girl blush subtly. Unknown to her, Komui also used the technology he had, to stop people, especially the Asian Branch Chief Bak Chan, from visiting his sister.

As things cooled down for everyone in the Order, Lenalee had to meet someone from her traumatic past, that was Leverrier, the man who had always dragged her back to the Order while repeating how she would never be able to run away from that place, whenever she would be tied to the ground to be immobilized. Lenalee was shaken deeply by this encounter, therefore ran away to Kanda's dojo. From Kanda's words, it appeared that Lenalee used to run to his side whenever Leverrier had appeared in the Order. Their talk ended with Kanda stating how he thought that she was a strong woman, which cheered Lenalee up about her state a bit. After their talk, Lenalee was called to have her legs checked in order to determine if she had lost her position as a Exorcist or not. It was revealed that, her Innocence was evolving due to Lenalee's feelings. The possibility of her Innocence becoming a parasitic type, ended up shocking Lenalee though and made both her and Komui worried about her lifespan since there had to be a price for gaining a stronger power.

Shortly after, the invasion of headquarters started with the appearance of a new Noah (Lulubell) right in the laboratory where the AKUMA egg was being researched. Her goal was to attempt to steal it back, after it had been stolen from the Earl when Allen had saved the Ark from destruction and virtually handed it over to the Order. At that time, Lenalee was in her room, still thinking about how she had to be prepared for anything the next time she synchronized with her Innocence. Despite her worries about her own life, when she learned of the situation regarding the entire science division and her friends being in danger, she decided to go and get her powers back as soon as she could in order to fight again. With the appearance of Komui though, she was stopped and sent to the head nurse's care so that she wouldn't be able to throw herself into a dangerous situation. Right then, Lenalee confronted her brother, saying that she was willing to attempt the experiment to create exorcists, the one she had witnessed a long time ago. But, Komui shocked her when he asked if she thought that as long as the others were fine, her death didn't matter. When Komui left her there, Lenalee cried to the head nurse and stated her hatred towards Innocence and how she wanted to live with everyone else, questioning why they had to suffer so much and why she had to cause her brother so much pain.

With the arrival of Leverrier at the Head Nurse's place, Lenalee didn't have any more time to consider her state. After Leverrier's question if Lenalee was an exorcist or not, she snapped out of her hesitation that had come with Komui's words and remembered why she had given up and decided to be an exorcist in the first place; that reason being Komui and how she thought she imprisoned him in the Order. With that, Lenalee went with Leverrier, in order to get her power back. Unluckily for her, one of the AKUMA had already evolved to level 4, an entirely new and unheard power level for everyone, therefore, she had to try synchronization under its fierce attack. Right then, she called for God with the lines “Please, the God I hate so much. Grant me power. For the first time, I want the Innocence so much!” and stated how she was tired of this grieving right before she finally got in touch with her Innocence. When Lenalee got the Innocence in her hands, it liquefied itself in her hands, as if asking to be drunk and Lenalee complied with that, after a series of flashbacks of herself, her brother and her other friends as they told her “Welcome home!”. Komui ran to her side only to witness that scene. Right before drinking it, Lenalee also made a promise with her Innocence about following it anywhere as long as it gave her the power to protect those she loved and allowed her to return to her brother's side when everything would be over.

After Lenalee had drunk her Innocence, she collapsed in her brother's arms, as cross-shaped scars formed on her ankles and a huge amount of blood flooded from them. When everyone was about come to the conclusion that her body was rejecting the Innocence, after one last drop, Lenalee's Innocence took a crystallized shape with wings and approached her, as if to make sure of Lenalee's intentions one last time. With Lenalee's final confirmation, the Innocence wrapped itself around Lenalee's legs, and formed a new version of her Dark Boots.

Lenalee finally made her entrance to the battlefield by arriving to save Allen right before he got killed by the Level 4 AKUMA and her arrival signaled a comeback for the Order's side. To Lenalee's surprise, she didn't even have to call for any special moves, speed or more power like she used to do before. The Innocence now acted according to her thoughts and feelings alone. Especially when she was about to prepare herself for an attack which required more power and speed, the Innocence reacted to that immediately by adding new circles and wings around the heels of her boots, which made Lenalee notice that the Innocence was moving in synchronization with her mind. With the help of Cross Marian, the level 4 AKUMA was executed. Later on, Komui explained the situation about Lenalee's Innocence and called it a “crystal type". He explained that even if the Innocence got damaged, it would renew itself with using a little of Lenalee's blood. She was the first one to use this Innocence type.

When the Order moved to the new headquarters, Allen Walker got taken away by Leverrier’s men to attend a meeting with Cross Marian, where Allen learned that he was the 14th Noah's host and that his existence would be erased one the 14th got out. At that moment, Lenalee demanded Johnny to tell her where Allen was being taken, since she was extremely worried about him because he was met by the Crow in a very foreboding manner. She was shown to be on the verge of tears after seeing Allen’s still smiling face at that time. Then, she decided to wait for Allen’s return with Johnny, which resulted in her falling asleep and Allen waking her up while trying to put a blanket on her.

As time went on, Lenalee and Allen were sent to a mission to Istanbul for an unknown reason and they were looking for Kanda before they departed for their mission. After a time-skip, she was sent to Greece with one of the generals and was fighting against a Noah with her comrades, while Allen was lured to America by the Noah Tyki Mikk. In the most recent event, she got blown away by an explosion of one of her comrades who had turned rogue due to events in North America.

[Personality]

From an outsider's perspective, Lenalee can be described as a charming and easy going person with a cute, smiling face. Because of her charm and affinity; she is, pretty much, the mascot of the Order, as it was stated in the interviews which took place in the reverse novels for D.Gray-Man. That same charm, can easily attract people towards her, let it be in a romantic way or in a purely platonic way. In her first appearance in DGM, she was shown to welcome Allen Walker and serve people coffee with her usually cheerful air.

The way Lenalee was portrayed in the beginning of the series was more than enough to make Allen (and probably the readers) surprised by the revelation that she was actually an Exorcist. This happened when she was fighting against one of her brother’s robots, named Komurin, that threatened the safety of the order. That incident showed that, Lenalee was also very comfortable with fighting.

After the mission where she got assigned with Allen as a partner for the first time, Lenalee showed how much she valued her friends and how she was never ashamed of stating it loudly. There was a scene when she saved Allen Walker from getting hurt due to his thoughtless self-sacrifice. After Allen snapped at her for stopping him, she slapped Allen, saying that she did it because they were friends. That was the very first sign to indicate how much her friends meant to Lenalee.

In the numerous missions she attended with Allen, Kanda and Lavi, she showed the same attitude, by getting more and more violent each time her comrades threw themselves in danger, enough to make Allen and Lavi name Lenalee’s punches as “Lenalee’s fist of love.”. Of course, violence is not the only way for Lenalee to show how much she loves her friends (or family, in a way). Lenalee is a physical person but not only in terms of punches. She also loves hugging and touching (In platonic ways, strictly speaking.) all the people dear to her. Those tender gestures of hers are the main reason why she is considered a physical person. Also, considering her switching between tenderness and violence, it’s safe to say that she has a very LIGHT yandere attitude.

Of course, someone who doesn’t know her can easily misinterpret Lenalee as a tomboy, when they see these violent gestures of hers. This, is a false assumption; because Lenalee actually looks feminine and her speech pattern is gender-neutral. She is not that feminine in her behavior, because of having grown up in a place full of men, which meant there were not many women in the Order for her to look to for guidance in the ways of a lady. This remained the same even until Lenalee was 16 years old. According to the fanbook of D.Gray-Man, the only person who taught her how to be a lady was Jerry (who is portrayed as a homosexual in the series), the chef of the Order.
At the age of six, Lenalee was taken away from her old homeland of China and brought to the Order. At this point, Lenalee began to loose her mental balance after numerous attempts to escape. She also lost her memory due to the shock of being taken away from her home and remaining family.

After she witnessed an experiment conducted on a boy who was supposed to be just a bit older than her, things only took a turn for the worse. She grew suicidal after seeing that there was no escape and she developed a mental illness, serious enough to be confined to her bed. Due to being constantly reminded, how she wasn’t even allowed to die, by the people on assigned to supervise her, a great yearning for home formed in her. After the arrival of Lenalee’s brother, Komui Lee, Lenalee began to regain her mental health. In the process of her rehabilitation, Komui began to change Lenalee’s image of home from a place where only two of them existed, to that of the Order, that is, the science division and the other Exorcists there. This, was a smart move to make Lenalee regain her sanity, get rid of her suicidal state and make her stay there without having to suffer too much, especially after Komui became the Supervisor. Still, a painful fact about Lenalee’s personality and her way of thinking can be deduced from that choice and that is; she is a character who built her own happiness on top of her biggest tragedy.

The process of her becoming more open with her emotions and feelings didn’t happen overnight. Even after Komui’s efforts, it still took a long time for her to get familiar with the Order. A strong hatred for God remained in Lenalee, a feeling that she didn’t even try to get rid of. She also could never get comfortable with her power, Innocence or namely her ‘dark boots’, and those boots always hurt even when she seemed to be fighting with ease. When she was told that she was showing her emotions better, she was already 16, that was 10 years after her arrival at the Order. In those 10 years, Lenalee formed her own definition of the world. She revealed this to Allen Walker, after she had a nightmare about everyone missing and Allen’s corpse lying in her lap.

To Lenalee, the world is made of her friends and her brother. On the battlefield, all she sees are the faces of her friends. Even if the real world is saved, if her friends are gone, then she will be destroyed. She admits that she doesn’t care about anyone else who is not included in her world. This definition of the world, reveals that Lenalee is not a very open person like she seems to be. Granted, she is not ignorant towards other people but the affinity she shows on the surface also doesn’t mean that she opens herself up to others easily. Lenalee is not someone to approach people or try to communicate with them, unless they are not already her friends. There has to be a reason (Not merit purposes, really, after all, Lenalee is hardly ever interested in merits.) for her to begin interacting with others unless people approach her first.

After having people who are very dear to someone, it’s a given that there will be a desire and will to protect them if that person has the power and is in a world where danger is always close, like D.Gray-Man Universe. One of the two reasons why Lenalee is fighting is, to protect her friends and her current home. The second reason is, her brother. Lenalee has been accusing herself of being the one who imprisoned Komui in the Order and made him sacrifice himself for her. Because of that, she wants to at least return his sacrifice by fighting to both keep her brother safe and to end the war so she can return to her brother's side safely.

Lenalee’s will to protect caused her to have two of the biggest fights in the series. The first fight resulted in victory but made her loose her powers due to full activation of her innocence. Other consequences were that she could barely even walk and the loss of most of her hair after it got burned off because of air friction during her final attack on the enemy. After she lost her powers, she had to face other feelings which she despised; helplessness and grief. However, even in that period without her powers, Lenalee still tried to fight even if those tries ended up in failure and only increased her pain about not being able to do anything. That pain and her becoming tired of grieving, finally lead her to her second big fight, with an even stronger enemy, after regaining her powers. Aside from that fight, the fact that Lenalee regained her powers, was actually the result of another level of character development for her. That was the decision to finally accept the Innocence completely despite her hatred of God and accept the path her powers would take her to, with the condition of her finally being able to protect her friends, especially her brother and the promise that the Innocence would let her return to her brother alive after the war was over.

At this point, it's easy to misinterpret Lenalee as a character who is always willing to sacrifice herself. After all, Lenalee is selfless enough to build her world that she cares about so much, on top of a tragedy. She even accepted the power from God she hated so much. Then she must be all for sacrificing herself, right? That is, a very wrong conclusion to reach, when it comes to Lenalee. Despite everything she did, she despises self sacrifice. It is something she hates strongly. She wants to live. She really does want to live, with everyone else. It's just that she feels obligated to fight and put her life on the line. This is because she has no other choice than to fight selflessly.

Lenalee's character development has also been symbolized by the state of her hair throughout the series. In the beginning, when her hair was long, she had more self-confidence and she was more determined when she took actions for her decisions. Then, she lost her hair together with her powers after her first big fight. Her self confidence was gone. Uncertainty and fear took over her mind because of violent events surrounding her at the time and the helplessness as she could not help her struggling friends. Right now, she is growing her hair again, which means that she is on the way of recovering her confidence and defeating her fears.

Character Weaknesses/Strength:

Strengths:

Intelligence: According to Hoshino Katsura herself, Lenalee is the smartest person out of the main four characters (Allen, Lenalee, Lavi and Kanda) from the D.Gray-Man series. A simple example of that that would be, during the Edo Arc of the story, when Allen lost the key for the entrance and the group was presented with probably millions of simliar keys. Lenalee was the one who noticed that it was an illusion, thus making others keep their calm and think about a solid way to find the real key.

In her fight with Level 3 Akuma, Lenalee was able to develop a strategy just from Eshi’s words about him being a sturdy type Akuma, to win against him. Thus, the girl used Eshi’s own powers against him and saved her friends even if the price was incredibly high.

Critical thinking: Lenalee is capable of making effective decisions quickly, no matter what situation she finds herself in. For example, when she was about to get suffocated by the gravity chains used by Eshi under the water, she managed to think of countering the chains with the power of her innocence by full activation. As long as there is no threat to the ones she loves, she can keep her calm and make quick decisions with ease.

Bravery: Lenalee has been fighting against monstrous creatures (Akuma) since she was 9. One can already say that she is very brave for doing something like that. During the fight with level 4 Akuma, she willingly went to try the experiment to create exorcists in order to get her powers back, when she knew about the terrible past results of that experiment. The way she was was able to smile at that time was quite the proof of her bravery together with her determination. This bravery of course brings about with itself, the self sacrifice that she hates so much, unfortunately.

Persistence (perseverance, industriousness): Lenalee is someone who takes her missions seriously and wants to finish every job that is given to her. There was never someone who could interfere with her fights. She has never given up. Even when she lost her powers, she still did her best to complete her missions, without thinking about herself even once. She is also very hard working. In Edo Arc, when Allen, Lenalee and Lavi were talking about what they would do once they completed their missions and went back home, Lenalee said that she would continue her training, stating that it was very important.

Integrity (authenticity, honesty): Lenalee is very honest with her emotions and is never ashamed to show them to others. Other than that, despite her rather disturbing past with the order, she can fit in different surroundings without any trouble. For example, when they were making a journey aboard Anita’s ship, she could easily get along with both Anita and the crew there. Still, it takes a little while for Lenalee to get used to new people so that she can become friends with them. She is, after all a partly-introverted person who doesn’t open herself up to many people. This is the, small flaw in her integrity.

Kindness: This is one of the most evident reasons why Lenalee is like the mascot of the order. Especially to her friends, Lenalee is truly the definition of kindness. Despite her slightly introverted side; her kindness ,combined with her beauty, always effects people around Lenalee, sometimes even to the point of stalking her. Of course this kindness doesn’t go as far as Allen’s, where he wants to help both the Akuma and humanity. Lenalee never cares about her enemies the slightest. She doesn’t let her kindness make her naïve, especially in her fights.

Weaknesses:

Selfishness: Lenalee’s world consists of her friends and her brother, as it was stated in the background section. She doesn’t care about what happens to the rest of the real world. Even if the real world is saved, if everyone she loves is gone, she still won’t be happy with it. As long as a person is not one of her friends, then she hardly ever cares about them. Whether that person is alive or not doesn’t matter to her at all. This is not to say that she is alright with people getting tortured or killed, of course she is not. This is just a result of her selfishness, something which exists in every single human being. This selfishness is what keeps her alive most of the time.

Emotional dependency: Despite the strong fighter profile Lenalee displays, she is still someone who needs the support of others, in terms of emotional strength, to keep going and fighting. She was able to overcome her confinement and become an exorcist, only thanks her brother’s arrival and his help, in the first place. She became more determined to fight and thought of the order as her home while she became friends with more and more people. This is, again, partly the result of Komui placing the interpretation of the order as their home to Lenalee’s mind with his words and gestures. Lenalee is a perfectly capable fighter but, it’s easy to make her loose her calm because of this dependency.

[Abilities]

First of all, Lenalee is actually a very smart girl. In canon, she is the smartest person out of the main four characters. She is a very fast thinker and she can develop strategies easily, especially when it comes to fighting. Also, she can make very quick decisions, outside of strategies as well. She never looses time with a dilemma when it’s not about her personal issues. Other than that, she is very brave, especially when there is something concerning her loved ones. Even without any special powers, she is a very capable fighter thanks to her physical and mental strength alone.

Lenalee is actually very agile and she has a very flexible body, which enables her to move very fast. She can even move like an acrobat with ease. It’s hard to keep track of her movements. Aside from speed, her physical strength is a rare sight. Let it be her punches or legs, they always have a destructive effect on her opponents. In hand-to-hand/close range combat, she always has great advantage because of her speed, agility and strength.

In the canon story, Lenalee also has her Innocence, which enables her to fly as if dancing in the sky and fall with a destructing power of iron steels. Actually, there are two versions of her boots, before and after they evolved, namely equipment type and crystal type. The special abilities of her equipment type innocence were:

Enbu: Kirikaze (円舞「霧風」, Waltz: "Misty-Wind"): Lenalee stirs up a destructive tornado with a whirling kick of her Dark Boots.

Onkyou no Tougi: Otokase (音響の踏技 「音枷」, lit. Stepping Skill of Sound: "Sound Shackles"): Lenalee becomes able to interface with sound waves, solidifying the sound of each step into a surface, which allows her to travel at the speed of sound.

Suijou no Tougi: Mizukase (水上の踏技 「水枷」, lit. Stepping Skill of Water: "Water Shackles"): Lenalee becomes able to interface with water, enabling her to walk on liquid surfaces.

Shittsui no Tougi: Tetsukase (失墜の踏技 「鉄枷」, lit. Falling Footsteps: "Iron Shackles"): Upon maximum invocation, Lenalee's power condenses onto her Dark Boots, meshing them into a morass of blades, carrying an extremely high weight. Assisted by Eshii's gravity shackles, this attack hit with the weight of 40,000 metric tons. which is equivalent to a meteor.

After Lenalee aquired her crystal type Innocence, without any training and experience in its use, she was able to exceed her previous speed and destructive power easily, as it was stated in her fight against level 4 Akuma. When she first used her speed to fly with the new boots, nobody was able to eve catch a glimpse of her, and, just with her willpower and mind, she can exceed this speed as well to an infinite degree. Also, her boots can regenerate very quickly with using just a little amount of her blood, so, it's impossible to damage them. She is yet to get any other new techniques in the canon storyline so far. The most interesting thing about these new boots is the fact that they react to Lenalee’s feelings directly and immediately by giving her as much power and speed as she wants and she doesn't even have to say anything before using them in any specific way.

[Other important stuff]

[Sample post]
[First Person]

Q: What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?

A: Having friends, of course. Well, I have never considered living on my own, not even once. I cannot bear being alone, even in my own home. Now that I think about it, my home is where I live with everyone I know.

Q:You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.

A: Ummm… I guess, I would agree. I mean, I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone. There is no point in turning people down like that, right? Though... It still wouldn’t be comfortable... The date, I mean. I don’t know what I would do. Well, I would talk to them. At least, I would have one more friend? Oh dear, this is such an awkward thing for me… [Laughs nervously and slightly blushes.]

Q: The hottest boy in class/workplace just confessed their love to you. How do you respond?

A:Again with that kind of question... Do I really have to answer? Oh well, I would like to know what he thought of me first. Why would he like me? How a person looks doesn’t matter to me, really. I guess I would like to get to know him better. I wouldn’t be able to give a response right away. But I would tell them I felt honored for their feelings still.

Q: There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?

A: Eheheh, this is so out of blue. Hmmm, I say “Oh my, who would leave something like that?” and take the poor thing in, yeah. By the way, is this a chocolate cake? And well, I eat that cake. If it tastes good, then I will be sad. I am into making sweet things now and I would want to know about how it was made.

Q: Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?

A: Definitely a peaceful life. I think I had my fill with adventure already. I’m a rather boring person, I must say. I like a stupid kind of life where I could just be with my friends and live in peace. Really, what is so good about adventure?

Q: Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?

A: How many ways are there to tell someone the time? [Small chuckle.] Anyway, I would just say what the time was.

[Third Person]

It was raining again. Lenalee looked at the grey clouds in the sky from a window of the small house she and Allen had been living in for a while now. The building was modest, it only had two rooms and a kitchen. Still, Lenalee liked this place very much. Was it because she was finally able to get a new place that she can consider her home, just like the one she had in her dreams? Or was it because there was no one to take her away?

It had been two months since they were in this strange world. The shock and the despair Lenalee felt since the first time she appeared here was beginning to fade away at a faster pace now. It was in a human’s nature to get used to things and move on after all, she thought absent-mindedly. However, the pain of not being able to reach the people she loved would never disappear.. The faces of her brother, Chief Reever and the others were still in her mind. She was so afraid that the day would come when she wouldn’t be able to remember them anymore,. At that point, Lenalee knew she would feel even more lonely and desperate.

In these two months, Lenalee was able to overcome her pain by making small images of her brother and the people in the science division living in a corner of her mind and heart. She could see, even feel them with her mind and with her heart when she missed them so much. She would visit that corner every night with tears in her eyes, when Allen would think that she was sasleep. She had never told Allen about this, not wanting to burden him with her troubles. He was already trying so hard to give her the impression that everything was alright with those forced, yet still sweet, smiles of his. It wasn’t that she was shutting herself away from people again. She was getting used to this place and people here already. It was just that she still cherished the bonds she had in her own world too much to let go and move on ‘without’ them.

Right then, she heard the sounds of footsteps. This got her out of her thoughts immediately and she turned around to eye the door. She took a deep breath. It seemed that Allen was looking for food again. The girl let out a small giggle at that, though she silenced herself quickly. A small smile was still lingering on her lips. For a moment, she thought of going to the kitchen, but she quickly pushed that thought away. Allen would most likely ask her what was wrong. She didn’t want to whine to anyone, anymore, not even to her brother. She could deal with things on her own. She wasn’t a little kid anymore. Getting help from others all the time wasn’t something she liked doing, even now. And Allen must’ve been so happy at that moment, with food all around him. Really, it was so easy to cheer him up sometimes, Lenalee thought with a small and somewhat cheerful sigh. Even now, even this little thing made her feel a bit lighter before she knew it.

Her room was larger than Allen’s. She wouldn’t mind the small room either but Allen being the gentleman he is, would hear nothing of it, insisting that she should take the large one. She already knew that there was no point in trying to change Allen’s mind. And, what would her brother do if he knew that she was living with another man now, even if it was Allen? Well, the last thing she wanted at that moment was gruesome images so, she ignored it with bit of a cold sweat. Lavi not being there was also a good thing, since he would immediately start making silly jokes and try to cling to Lenalee in whatever way he could. Just for this time, Lenalee was glad that a person she knew wasn’t here. Though just the thought of him cheered her up a little.

Lenalee heard the sound of a plate falling to the floor and breaking into pieces. It seems someone was still a bit clumsy there. She was surprised that she could giggle twice that night. Really, what would she do with this boy living with her? It wasn’t a complaint, of course. Lenalee wouldn’t mind things like that the slightest. It seemed that mood was already better now. The corners of her eyes were a bit red but they were easy to miss. Maybe it would be better if she went to the kitchen now. With a small smile, she opened the door.

She would get to see the ones she loved in the future, she was sure of that. And now, it was time to move on and live.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] There are more than one reasons, but I must admit that the first reason is I was looking for a place to RP Lenalee. The second reason is the settings of Somarium. They are very impressive and I just cannot wait to make Lenalee have CRs there.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] I guess the rule about OOCness. I am really glad that OOC issues are being taken seriously.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] From a very good friend of mine.
[Any questions?] No, thanks.
