Celadon Ball

Just got home from the Celadon Ball, which was held earlier at around 8 pm at the Valle Verde clubhouse. One word to describe it is: FUN! It was a good thing that I was able to attend the party, even if I only knew that it was to be held on March 31 on short notice. (I thought it was on the second of April. Turns out I got my appointments mixed up. Thank you, Maia and Anne, for the heads-up!> There were song and dance numbers, awarding ceremonies for outstanding members and managers and projects, the induction of new officers and the turning over of previous officers' duties to them, good food, lots of picture-taking sessions, song and dance numbers, an awesome band that played good music, fashion shows and lots more. Tonight's ball was a great way for Celadon to end the school year. Not only did I meet up with familiar faces such as Jhenel, Rachelle, Zhandra, Lotte, Nicole, Maia and Andrea, but I also got to chat with the acquaintances and/or friends that I got to know in Celadon - Retcher, Coleen and Christa, among others.

And to top it all - surprise, surprise! Guess who won the award for the most outrageous hat? Me! I can't believe it! I've never been on either end of the fashion spectrum - that is, I'm neither fashionable nor edgy. So, to win such an award was like a big surprise for me! I'm glad that I didn't leave my hat at home - I was, at first, hesitant to wear it because it would definitely attract attention. My hat, after all, was big and shaped like a birthday cake with candles on top (that lit up if you pressed a certain part of the hat). I was afraid that I'd be laughed at for looking like a fashion victim, that the hat and my red dress would make an awkward combination. I'm thankful that people loved my hat (at least, I think they did) and that I won an award! Yay! It's not that big an award, but still, it gave my self-esteem a little boost.

Zhandra and Maia also won awards - Zhandra for being one of the outstanding members in her department, and Maia for being the most eligible (read: hottest) bachelorette of the night - so congratulations to them! I'm proud of them. I wish I could win such awards, too. Oh well, I still have next year to be active. As for winning an award like Maia's? Right. I won't even bother to try to aim for that. XD

Thank you to everyone who organized this ball! I sure had lots of good, clean fun. :) Hanging around with the Celadon family always makes me feel happy, even though I may not be close to everyone. For some reason, Celadon may be a large organization, but it seems small and tightly-knit because, as Zhandra said, we usually see the same faces (of prominent and active members) during activities. Thanks a lot to the people who made this year-ender ball happen! And thank you to the officers who worked hard to make this academic year fulfilling for Celadon. I'm going to miss the graduating officers - Retcher and Ted, specifically - because, even though I'm not that close to them, I have talked to them sometimes and they were always nice and friendly. They also clearly worked hard for Celadon and its members. :) Good thing they'll still be dropping by next year!

So... hats off to Celadon! :)
