Out of the four organizations that I've joined this year, I love Celadon the most, and for sure, I am not going to quit being a member. As Colleen - a new friend I made through Celadon - put it, Celadon is an org that treats its members like family. And I agree. With my awkward social skills and all, I think I've made more new acquaintances than friends in Celadon, but at least, that should count for something. I've met lots of new people who are nice, friendly and fun to talk to, and I get to bond with Judenites, some of whom I weren't very close to back in high school. Also, thanks to Celadon, I've had lots of fun, from the Amazing Race to writing articles for Chinoy (Celadon's publication) to the LDP.
Why am I talking about Celadon? Well, the other day, Friday, Celadon had its second GA (general assembly). With free food, unlimited enjoyment and a chance to win up to P1000, who wouldn't be enticed to attend the GA? And that was why Andrea, Leslie (after some convincing) and I decided to attend the GA. Even though we had already eaten prior to the GA - we went food tripping in the cafeteria, and no, Leslie, nothing you do or say will make me eat sisig (a local dish made of pig innards, which, people say, is more delicious than it sounds) - we still hoarded cotton candy, little hot dogs with marshmallows, pastries and iced tea like little children. We also got to hear about Celadon's projects for the remainder of the school year, and I found out that the Spring Film Festival will be having its third GA. Oh, bugger, I wanted to help out with that activity - as the name implies, it's a showcase of Chinese films, and Celadon aims to promote the filmfest, especially to Chinese schools all over Manila.
Anyway... I'm drifting off-topic again, as I always do. The most fun part of the second GA was the Bingo game. For those of you who don't know what Bingo is... well, I don't know how to explain it, so you might as well look it up, sorry. :D Anyway, for two rounds I came really, really close to winning a cash prize, especially during the last round, when I was two numbers away from forming the winning pattern! Darn, looks like I have no luck. I have never won any raffle contests, or any contests with luck as a variable, for that matter. Like the mother in "The Rocking-Horse Winner," I do not have Lady Luck on my side.
But, not winning aside, the game - and the GA, of course - was VERY amusing! I'm normally a reserved person, but during the game I was enthusiastic, feeling rushes of sheer delight (and nearly shouting) whenever the number called was on my card, and going "Yay!" and "Aww..." with real emotion. Also, during the game, it seemed that Judenites were the lucky ones. Except me. Two Judenites won - Charlotte and Zhandra went home with cash prizes. When the game ended, one person even joked, "Who are the Judenites? I think I should get to know them so I'll know who to avoid the next time we play bingo."
I definitely think we should do this again. I hope there will be another game of bingo with the Celadoneans, only with more rounds and higher cash prizes at stake! :p If that happens, all I can do is hope that luck will be my ally, and that I don't have to pay any price (equivalent exchange and all) for a bit of luck.

Since we're on the topic of Celadon, I just remembered that the LDP technically isn't over, as we still have the culminating task to accomplish: a game booth proposal for Celadon Week (which will be held from February 4-8, just in time for Chinese New Year) and the actual implementation of that proposal. Our group's proposal is almost done. It's the actual game booth that I'm both worried and excited about. I'm excited because our game is kind of unique (well... not exactly, since we borrowed the poison cups game from Saiunkoku Monogatari - will explain this next time), but I'm worried because I do not know if our targeted audience will share our enthusiasm. We need to attract enough customers to our game booth! I know that I'll be dragging some friends to our game booth, but aside from that, I hope that our game booth will draw in lots of customers, and lots of income. :)
