Hopes and Fears - stolen from Chelsea
Hopes
1. I recieve a good boat with a supportive command, in a beautiful location, and that I succeed as an officer. (next Thursday night!)
2. I meet someone, fall in love, and get married. Children would be nice.
3. I'm always comfortable, secure in my relationships, and have enough money where I can take vacations with my family, but not enough that we're controlled by it.
4. Lead a search and rescue, become a Boarding Officer and lead fishing vessel inspections.
5. People will realize how badly we're killing our environment, how tied we are to it, and start to make amends and live a more sustainable lifestyle (buy organic toothpaste!).
6. Make the world a better place.
Fears
1. That I'll fail as an ensign, hate being underway, and hate the Coast Guard, and hate the next five (minimum) years of my life. And if I do get Alaska/Northwest, getting really sea sick in the Bering Sea.
2. Never meet anyone, bounce from relationship to relationship, and then wake up one day and realize that I'm too old and everyone else is married.
3. Getting fat.
4. Getting seriously injured or sick to the point where I can't enjoy the outdoors activities I like.
5. Doing something that makes my parents ashamed of me.
6. Losing contact with my friends I've made here, or letting too many years go by between trips to Missouri.
