Retribution
So, if you know me in real life, you may have heard me comment that my puppy Clover hates her nails trimmed. The first trim was a bit like a rodeo, as Clover twisted, cried and even dared to snap at Shel and I. She was completely panicked. She seemed sure we were going to kill her. Considering her shelter history, that wasn't a surprise. Lately, I've worked with her and we now have an understanding. She comes and lays down for a couple toes, then gets a treat and runs away. The process repeats until we're done. She obeys (barely), but under duress. She HATEs nail trimming. So, can it be a coincidence that a few mornings ago I woke to find my fuzzy, pink, monster feet, house shoe, missing all the toe nails? She had chewed them off. Clearly, vengeance is hers.
