Somebody's on a cosplay rampage
Yeaaaah, went a bit trigger happy with the mouse as I was buying wigs... I've got 3 wigs on the way at the moment, and that's not including the clip on fringe I bought for my Mio cosplay! Oh deary me, now I really cannot change plans for October otherwise that's a load of wigs gone to waste :P
Bought this wig for Yoh, will obviously be cut and styled. Although I'm not doing his default cosutme, I'm doing his Halloween costume - and his hair is shoved underneath a giant pumpkin. So I don't think I'll need to do major styling with Yoh :P This wig looks lovely and thick so it'll be easier to spike when I do normal Yoh, fingers crossed! Was only around £11-12 due to 20% off sale, winnnn!
This wig for Rin, again, will be cut and styled. I didn't go for either of the previous wigs I was torn between in the end because of the suspicious seller of the more accurate wig. So I went with a seller I know I can trust. Believe me it took me ages to find a natural blonde like this, saw plenty of yellow, but not proper blonde. I had completely forgotten about this seller till I was searching for suitable Rin wigs! Yay Le Color Co : D This was originally £18 or something, but I managed to haggle it down to £15, go me! :D
And finally, this blue wig for Sheryl. Not actually for October Expo, it's for Kitacon next year. But I had a coupon and a bit of money in my Paypal due to selling some of my manga so I thought I'd make full use of it by getting a discount on this wig! It's a pretty heat resistant wig, only colour that's close enough, they had the most perfect wig on Cosplay Wig months ago but I very much doubt it will ever come back. So I'm having to wig style myself, which I don't mind, but it's the first time using the hot water method for curling rather than straightening, so new technique for me! This wig costed me £18, pretty expensive but it is heat resistant soo yeah!
Was tempted to get a red wig for Kahoko but I'll wait a while, I'll have no money for travel if I buy it! XD
Tempted by orange wig for Shirley/Asuka as well, but Wig Fever have raised their prices and they're always offering 20% off so I'll wait till then, because the coupon I had was 10% off, woah-hooo! (I'm a cheapo!)
My other plans for October Expo are Simon (Gurren Lagann) and Haine (Gentlemen's Alliance). If I go on the Friday then I'll probably wear some form of Mio (K-ON!) cosplay because I can use my own hair. Can't decide between which ending outfit to do, I'll have both by the time October Expo comes around! I'll bug various friends to see if they want to do a group with me and see which versions they'd rather do :P That is, IF I can go on Friday! Gotta wait till my new college timetable comes out, which will be sooooon 8D (And I'll be back to college soooon! I don't know why I sound so excited, probably because I'm tired of revising the same old stuff and want to learn new interesting stuff now! I'm also excited about new timetable 8D)
I got some other exciting cosplay plans for the Summer as well. For one thing I have my first commission coming right up! I'm styling my friend's Teddie wig for our Persona 4 shoot, I'm excited x). I may also be making Yellow's (Pokemon Special) dress as a commission as well. My friend asked me to style her Human!Boota (Gurren Lagann) wig for her too which will be cool. I get to make money out of cosplay, score! 8D Because they're friends I won't be charging much, I'm not confident enough to charge them the same prices other commissioners charge anyway!
I want to make more character hats this Summer as well. Wrong season I know but I really want to make Luka's (Vocaloid) little cat hat. I can't remember the song, but it's cute and I want one. I have about a metre of white fleece that needs using up from previous hats I've made as presents for people, so I gotta use it up somehow! :P (Anybody want a fleece hat? I have 5 different coloured fleece that really must go! Might get into plushie making...)
Other cosplays plans for the Summer include a prop I really want to make, I think I've only told special_pleb what it is because I don't want to say "OH HEY I'M MAKING THIS, AND IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME >8D" and then I fail badly and yeah... So I'm keeping quiet about my prop until I've started making it and it's going well, will probably post progress on the CosIsland costume page's journal as always though - because only friends really see that unless people randomly stumble on the page. There's a clue - it's already on my CosIsland xD
I'm looking forward to making it though, if it's successful, I'm rewearing this costume way more than once, mark my words!
Don't expect anything too impressive by the way, because it probably isn't. But I'm no props-maker so this is challenging for me XD

It's because my brain's died a little and it's not focussing this late at night, so I thought I'd do mindless activities like browsing the internet and rambling on LJ :P Didn't feel like going to bed earlier...
