for christmas...
Its Christmas time again, oh mom, you know what to expect.
Sean has once more brought us all a poem to reflect…
The way he feels…
As do us all…
Although I do regret, that once again a poem war has made us all rejects.
This year has been a long one, although I must confess…
An easy one for me as I have not yet once paid rent.
The things you do…
We always knew…
That you would keep up safe, but now we know you’ll feed and clothe us when work gives us a break.
I never could fully thank-you for all you’ve given us this year.
But when you see my present, I’m sure you’ll she’d a tear.
At how worthless daughters could cruelly treat you here- on this holy day of shopping,
But please do not yet fear.
Or throw us from your house… for that would not be great.
Remember we are beloved children spawned of drunken states.
And that we love you truly for everything you are…
And that your birthday presents are not so very far.
While I may go off topic, there is one thing I don’t forget…
And that is- ooh what a pretty day!- I mean the wonder you beget.
The way you look at us and yell and then just rest your head…
Upon your hands then smile when we ask you what the hell we said.
For all us offspring of you… one thing still brings us cheer.
Throughout these special holidays
And all out through the year…
That is you, our mother, the only woman we revere.
merry christmas to you and yours!
