tokusatsu friday: kamen rider ooo ep. 32

May 06, 2011 17:15

No Jmovie/Movie Friday today just because. Ah. I haven't seen any good movies recently but Kamen Rider OOO's 32nd episode is worth flailing for. If Episode 31 was like the near-climax of the series so far, 32 is like the nearest-to-the-highest point of the series. I am seriously loving KR OOO as much as I did KR Den-O. That they were made by the same tag-team of creators is simply the cherry topping.

So Episode 32...the screencaps will be delayed because I'm awaiting soft subs from my favorite KR Rider source, TV Nihon. It is likely to be released tomorrow afternoon. But I was able to watch the episode with Over-Time's subs on the great tube. Try Googling it and you are likely to find the youtube link to the episode.

Note: To those who have yet to see it, this post is full of spoilers. If you don't desire to be spoiled, please stop reading from this point on. It's for your own good. XD

We left Episode 31 with five purple core medals going into Hino Eiji. I'm sure I flailed about it at that time somewhere. Now we get to know just who Hino Eiji is at this episode. This episode confirms that he is becoming the same creature as Ankh, Kazari and the others. He is morphing beautifully into a Greeed---when put in simplistic, KR OOO terms. Both Date and the President with Satonaka holding the birthday cake for said Greeed at some point reveals all of that.

(my screencaps)
Happy birthday, purple medal-ed greeed!
Now, it gets creepier because Hino happens to have no desire whatsoever. He has been dried out of them courtesy of his past which we also discover in this episode. The President makes a cryptic reference how the purple core medals run parallel to Hino's complete being. He concludes it is what makes him the perfect vessel for the purple core medals who make up a purple greeed who desires nothing.

Near-end of the episode, Hino's purple core medals gets activated---this is my favorite part---and it saves him from being obliterated by one of the yummies created by a certain someone. The medals on OOO!Hino's belt disappears and gets replaced by three purple medals from Hino. This changes him into a more powerful pterodactyl-based OOO form. Why I would say this is beautiful is because his form is much, much more powerful than all the other greeeds'. The two yummies get defeated in the end but not before it is found out that they and OOO's current form has the same composition power-wise. And OOO!Ptero continues to rampage as he attacks KR Birth until Hina stopped him...successfully. Whew.

If there was one thing I wanted to own from this series, it'd be Greeed!Hino and a berserk Putotyrannosaurus. Morbid much, am I? That aside, isn't Putotyrannosaurus just a beaut?!?! <3

Hina finally proves she's useful. Yey~ I was afraid she was dropping off the radar somehow.
The end gives us Dr. Maki who's also turned into a greeed similar to Hino by Kazari feeding him the remaining five purple core medals. Now feel free to take a guess on who made the yummies OOO!Ptero defeated.

There can only be one Greeed with purple medals in my mind and that's Eiji Hino. This guy ought to get out of the picture. ASAP. But not really ASAP. He's there to add to the thrill of the series. LOL.
Important point here, I think, is how the purple core medals affect both Dr. Maki and Hino Eiji. They run perpendicular to each other where their desires go. Eiji desires nothing, Dr. Maki desires the end. There's a similarity there but something about Dr. Maki's desire makes me think he isn't qualified to be a full-fledged Greeed. Where Eiji is now, he's the one who deserves to fully revive as the holder of the purple core medals. I think it's because when you desire the end, you have to do something to get that ending but when you desire nothing, you don't do anything at all. Date was right, you just cease to exist. That isn't really an end to me because you can go on living without desiring anything as Eiji is doing.

I'm not sure how this whole thing will turn out yet but this episode does make me excited for the 33rd next week. Judging from the sneak preview at the end, Gotou is going to be KR Birth. Finally. I have no idea what'll happen to Date as KR Birth so we'll just have to wait, ne?

Other things...definitely. Definitely LJ is much more suited to Firefox. I had grave problems last night with posting another flailing post here using Google Chrome. And yes, the picspam will have to be delayed. I have yet to acquire the 32nd episode on my hard drive~
