....with W-inds. But not really primary school. This is like, late high school-early college era for me. XD
I remember now why I can never seem to get into Johnny Entertainment's formulaic boybands. It's W-inds. I've been stuck on since five or so years ago. I was either about to complete high school or perhaps, I was in my early college days when the W-inds. mania struck. I went on a W-inds. rampage back then. Haha. And then came the FLAME and Lead rampage. But 13 to 15-year-old, newly debuted, Keita's vocals killed me, totally. <3 It still kills. I love 2001-newly-debuted Keita because it's the more nostalgic moe W-inds. days but I'm fine with the current, more suave singing Keita. <3 Long-time fans term it 'late puberty'. I have to agree. XD His voice change was somehow excruciating for most W-inds. fans, including me.
Right now, their music changed. Hearing their new tunes today, I was like 'Whoa! This is a complete 360-degree turn!' You can think of it being something akin to 'Eureka!' Their music has gone from candy pop to the more mature eurobeat-pop. And I'm well aware they have to contest with AAA in that but they're holding on fine. The good thing with their music today, they can show their dancing prowess better. And no, they're not akin to Kpop. Ever. It's pure non-JE pop and the more westernized kind.
Oh em gee...younger W-inds.! I can't...I just can't *insert incoherent speech here.* Keitan, you adorable cutie. <33333 And Ryo-tan, too. <3 Why does 2001 seem so much like a decade ago? Because it is. But they're still my guilty pleasure. Hence I can never get into JE bands, no matter how catchy their tunes are or how cute or charming or whatever they can be. I always went with where there was pure talent no matter how underrated they may be.
Either way, I still end up going back to ancient W-inds. Only because Keita is adorable in his kid state XD plus his high notes actually kill me back then, 'til now. It's much too cute. <3 YOU. JUST. CAN'T. NOT. FANGIRL over them. Haha~ Right now? Waaahhh!!! I wanna see Keita acting in the dramas he were in recently than Nishi. I know, I'm turning from AAA but Keita apparently pawns Nishi more for me. ;____; I have a bigger Tachibana Keita bias than a Nishijima Takahiro bias because, well, probably because W-inds. has been around for far longer than AAA. They debuted back in 2001 so they are four years ahead of AAA's debut. And Keita's been writing his own music, focusing on music (my main love---music <3)---a testament to Keitan's and W-inds.' legit musical talent---whereas I'm not sure where Nishi's focus is in. Right, acting and pretty-fying himself. But I still love him, not as much as I do Keitan, though. LOL. When it comes to AAA's vocals, I'm more into Misako, Naoya, Shinjiro and Shuta. Surprising how Shuta's voice is much more appealing than Nishi's when he's recently just been singing on lives and the recordings.
W-inds. is the one Japanese boyband I approve of. Lead was quite a distraction along with the now-disbanded FLAME back then but I'd always been more into W-inds. It's just sad that JE bands overtook them. It's sad as much as frustrating when this boyband has been around for quite awhile, working hard to deliver to their fans what is wanted by the fans. But they don't have too much love from the fangirls. ;___; They do have an established fan base so that's pretty good.
Now I shall go into W-inds. fangirl mode and stalk more of their old-ish tunes for Keita's wonderfully moe vocals. I must apologize for the lack of Monday Quote today. I've been on a music rampage recently. Now strolling down memory lane, aka 2001 W-inds.
Oh and...

PS
W-inds.' Feel the Fate makes me wonder if this is Dream5's Takano Akira's audition song and dance. The dance steps for his audition are eerily similar to those in the music video for this. See it on youtube if you're curious about it, too, the Feel the Fate video, I mean. And his baggy dressing style. It screams Tachibana Keita 2.0 for some reason, the early w-inds. days Keita anyway. Maybe it comes from him coming from Fukuoka much like Keita? The audition video of both Akira and Yuuno has been taken down from the great tube so it makes me want to hit myself in the head for not listening intently to Akira's song and instead fastforwarding to when he break dances. If Feel the Fate was his audition song then he just rose up in my fangirl book. LOL. Right next to Keitan. <3 *sidenote: Fukuoka is both the hometown for Akira and Keita <3. Wuh? Coincidence? (the same for Ayumi Hamasaki, too) While Hokkaido is where Nishi and the two boys from W-inds., Ryohei <3 and Ryuichi hails from. o.o This must account for something somehow, ne? =.=U*
