scary how li'l kids can be so talented, just at par with their peers (Dream5)

Apr 02, 2011 01:38

Apparently, they're AAA's kouhai[s], Dream5. A quintet with 4 girls and 1 boy. They're already giants when it comes to dancing---Takano Akira can apparently break dance at just 13 or 12 years old? *shudder* There's a video of their auditions that shows this back in NHK's MTK program. It's on youtube if you're interested---plus their two vocalists can carry the weight of the songs given them. They still seem out of breath when singing and dancing but like AAA, I won't be surprised if they improve in a few years' time. These guys will definitely be a force to reckon with in the near future. Just give them decent music that evolves much like AAA's did and they're good to go...for the long run. >.< I learned of them after checking out Shuta and Hidaka in one of their videos (see below). Their ages range from 11 or 12-15 at this time, I suppose. But they debuted back in 2009 so they were much younger back then.

I always wondered what has Avex been eating considering they'd been forming groups with uneven numbers of testosterone and estrogen. >.< AAA is fine as it is given they started out with three girls (when Goto Yukari was with them) and five boys. Now they're down to two girls and five boys. The girls still aren't outnumbered but Avex initially planned for AAA to be a group with five boys with just one girl, Uno Misako as their main female vocalist. Looks like they were able to realize that plan-gone-awry with Dream5. XD Meh. Akira will survive the massive amount of estrogen there...somehow. He has a long way to go to growing up with his group mates.

Anyway, Dream5. They remind me too much of chibi-AAA. More so than the real chibi guys AAA had as their kid counterparts in some of their earlier concerts and such. I think those kids should learn from Dream5. /gets bricked. But I've never really seen chibi-AAA perform so I'll stick with Dream5 for now as AAA's chibi counterpart. Sort of, anyway.

So, Shuta did the choreography for two songs including this and the one above: (for the complete music video, see here. Side note: they are so pre-depArtures/Buzz Communication AAA XD And those days of AAA are nostalgic ;_;)

I'm not sure who did the choreography for this next one but it looks, to me, like a mix of Shuta-Hidaka-Nishijima or just Shuta-Nishijima.

This happens to be my favorite of the three though. I missed seeing their first single. Avex already took it down from the almighty tube.

I don't know much of them since they're pretty new. I can only distinguish Akira and Kotori because the latter blogs and the former is the only boy. It'll be easier to get to know them later when they become more established. So far, they've charted further with just Koi no Dial 6700 which is apparently a remake of a 1970s hit from Finger 5. It's been covered a lot. Even Morning Musume has a version of it I checked out just once. Well, not as a whole anyway.

*small tidbit on Akira: He played a younger version of a character in Tumbling whom I suspect is Nishi's (Hino)---edited: it's Kazuma Sano's character's younger version he's playing according to one blog I read, anyway so I'm still not sure, LOL. This gives me another reason to check out Tumbling aside from the power cast it has---Yamamoto Yusuke, Seto Kouji and Kaku Kento. Hmn...Nishi's must've enjoyed showing him off to cast mates. By him, I mean Akira. LOL. He just might be NishiDaka's...well, he's the cutest son those two could wish for. XD

I won't be surprised if Dream5 reaches AAA by the time they're near the 20s but I won't be surprised either if there's a breakdown or a change in grouping just in case. They're an odd group, this one. I doubt they'll survive being just comprised of 4 girls and 1 boy. That just seems highly imbalanced for me unlike it was for AAA. Again: what had Avex had in mind to form this group albeit they are amazing people/kids in it? If they stick it together through a few more years and are given music as mass-friendly as AAA's, they're going to go far, really, really far. So far, Dream5's target are the younger audience and they are doing a good job so far.

Pretty much like AAA when they were at the very beginning, Dream5 has a long way to go both in singing and dancing. The more I watch their videos, the more I think they need to polish their dances at the moment. They're a bit rough but in time, they'll be even better. In a way, you could say they're good but they're not that (AAA) good, yet. You really can't get away with comparing them with their senpais given they are touted the next AAA by most fans. Either way, again with these couple of words (LOL), I'm enjoying watching their Tensai Terebi-kun performances that have gained praise from their peers and some older audiences. It's especially fun to hear surprise in a lot of the TTK people when Dream5 reveals that AAA's Sueyoshi Shuta choreographed their dances. XD It's no wonder they bear a semblance to TripleA.

The appeal of both AAA and Dream5 for me isn't just in the dancing and whatever else they put out in the open---concerts, shows and such. They also have it in the music they are given to work with. The music and their ability to move and entertain onstage is what makes these two groups formidable compared to other groups. The way they are packaged is people-friendly and it doesn't matter what age group they are attracting because they absolutely do a good job in attracting the general audience of varying age groups. In the case of AAA, I think their competition is with the more established ones like Chemistry. But they'll make it as far as those groups. Or they already have. Basically, with the music material they are given to work with, they're lucky to be in such groups. They'll last long (especially AAA).

AAA x Dream5 is quite an adorable senpai-kouhai relationship. XD One of Dream5's power vocalists, Shigemoto Kotori's blog is a treasure trove of AAA x Dream5 stuff. Dream5 love their senpais too much <3 And the feeling's mutual, apparently. So...some April Fools'-ey photos below the LJ cut. They're just hilarious because of the captions. Otherwise, they're just photos taken with some TripleA-ers with Dream5.

Look, Ma! Our kids! XD Nissy seems to be keeping the kids in line while Dakkun supports. o.o Near-perfect family picture these two are with Dream5. LOL.

They do love their dai-senpais enough to get stuff from the latter. <3 A-Nation 2010, I think. :)

Urapapa took pity on the short kid, Akira, behind the girls and ends up carrying him. >.< First, it was Dakkun who carried Akira in the Koi no Dial 6700 vid. Now, it's Naoya. Just wait until his period of growth spurt. He'd at least gain a few inches to tower or at least catch up to the 4 girls... This looks like A Nation 2009, I recall AAA's in white during the 2010 A Nation.

I'm not sure at all why I'm listening to AKB48. Two of their songs have caught my attention, Heavy Rotation and Ponytail to Shushu. They're catchy.

In the Jrock side, I'm ecstatic Flow covered 1/3 Junjou na Kanjou. One of my favorite Rurouni Kenshin endings from Siam Shade. Side note: As much as I love Flow and am listening to their version right now and that they did a decent job and stuff but, gah, I prefer Siam Shade's. But I still have a tough, rocky crush on Keigo. XD What's up with Jpop/rock covers at this time, anyway? I won't be surprised if Flumpool does a cover now although I doubt that. At least AAA and Dream5 (WOW WAR TONIGHT, Koi no Dial 6700) are doing great at covering older things. Jrock/Jpop---Jmusic in general and I have quite a long history. I'm not big on animes much these days but I'd been there and that was where love for Jmusic started. You know how animes feature seiyuus (voice actors) with amazing singing voices and equally amazing OP and ED themes. Oh and the Japan/Korea FIFA World Cup years ago. Remember? Chemistry was my first Jpop band/duo---via MTV Asia, their collab with South Korean artists were pretty awesome (Let's Get Together Now) that it didn't matter if I couldn't understand much of what was said in the song back then. Currently, they're tied with AAA in first place for me. XD

Anyway, the wonders you can get from listening to the Oricon top 30 list on the almighty tube. Another sidenote on the Oricon and Johnny's Entertainment giants (Arashi, NEWS etc.): it's scary how powerful fangirls can be when they can easily propel these bands to the top of the charts the first few weeks they release their singles and albums. It's an uphill battle then when other non-JEs release theirs alongside the JE giants. The thing non-JE bands/artists can count on best is their established fan base. The good thing about these musicians is that they are talented and street smart enough to create music the general public can enjoy---not just the rabid fangirls XD. Basically reason enough for me to prefer them over other candy pop releases. Otherwise, I'm still weak to such things. Why else wouldn't I be listening to AKB48? LOL. Either way, it's always an uphill battle with the Oricon. I'm not at all sure how the chart works considering they have quite a lot of artists with the great few of them established. I guess it works best with Japan. I'm more of a Billboard person considering I'd always liked Western music and such that I'm much more familiar with it. I listened to a few oricon top 30 charts upped on youtube and ended up getting a few things from them. Most, I'm happy to have just as mp3s. There are a few that held me enough in them to want to try to get a few things from the artists themselves. It's been a while since my last record. LOL. The last I had was most likely Carrie Underwood's sophomore album. My music stash is quite weird and diverse. >.< Either way, I'm waiting on my The Fray and OneRepublic stash to come around with one BTR which is just all the weirder. You can just imagine my CD collection. LOL. This, from someone who avoids what many flock to. >.<

Hmn...long post. When I fangirl, apparently I make it count. LOL.
