Elevator goes up
Elevator come down
And you just go with the flow
Until your feet are back on the ground~

I very rarely obsess on pop artists these days and even those coming from American Idol. I was a big fan back in the day but I thought it was already enough to have Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Katharine McPhee and (occasionally) Kelly Clarkson come out of it. Lee DeWyze has a long way to go yet. And I'm missing Taylor Hicks. It's been a couple years since The Distance.

But...I'm obsessing on three of David "Archie" Archuleta's songs on the sophomore effort this bright Sunday lunch time. I don't have much love for the rest because I think I only picked the liveliest of the lively he has on said album. Three personal favorites have come out from listening to just three from Archie's The Other Side of Down---Something 'Bout Love, Elevator and The Other Side of Down. They're all catchy, true to the pop sense tunes or rather full of bubblegum pop-y goodness, I love them to pieces. The best thing about them? Archie's falsettos. They're amazingly flawless.

There's a reason I deemed him easily the best singer to come out of American Idol season 7. Unfortunately, he got trumped by the other David, Cookie, when it came to progress and consistency. I never watched AI7 completely but I did take note of a lot of Cookie's awesome performances. I could probably say of that season's top two that while Archie remained consistent, he was a bit bland and never did anything risky. He stayed on the safe side but I think that's one thing you could expect from someone with a voice like his. Cookie, meanwhile, grew up at the course of season 7 until his epic win. It's one of the best seasons for AI next to Kelly's, I suppose.

Either way, enjoy the Sunday. It's a new year and a new decade. I'll probably do something fun or maybe not. I'm still the boring old me. The only fun thing I could think of is put 3 of my favorite Archie songs on constant replay.
