My Jpop playlist is apparently filled with all things Chemistry or at least it was when I had downloaded all their albums. Now I only have a few songs, most being my favorites. They are one of the few bands, technically duos, that don't die out where Jpop is concerned. I got into them during the 2002 Worldcup which was set in various stadiums in Japan/Korea. Technically, I'm a soccer/football fan so...just saying. I was in high school, I think, when I first heard of Chemistry and they'd then collaborated with Korean artists for the 2002 FIFA World Cup theme. Let's Get Together Now was my first Jpop favorite then.
Leaving you with today's tune which reminds me so much of winter and leaves me wishing we had such a season other than the usual hot day/cold night that's common to tropical countries. Yakusoku no Basho is one of their slower songs I like. I don't like a lot of them seeing as I often go for their livelier tunes. Chemistry is basically an R&B/Soul unit and you rarely come across that genre in JPop. The most they have in there are bubblegum pop a-la Arashi, Tegomassu and others. Chemistry has been a functioning R&B/Soul unit since the late '90s and yep, they sure are veterans in the field (and especially around MTV Asia when I could still watch it for whole days at most. We don't have the channel anymore *insert sad face here*). What makes them cool is basically their blend of voices. Dochin Yoshikuni and Kawabata Kaname still are on top when it comes to my favorite Jmusicians/singers. (Sadly, not even Ryuuta of Flumpool can compare but he can try his best XD)
I've been especially stuck on Dochin Yoshikuni for some time now. I think I still am. He's already married. Vocal-wise and good looks-wise, he's definitely got all. So...LOL...good luck to me finding a guy like him. It's more like a teeny-bopper crush, though, really. The kind I have for Logan from Big Time Rush and some others. In case you're wondering who he is, he's the one in the glasses. He's definitely cute eh?
I couldn't find Kimi ga Iru so hopefully this will suffice. Next time, I'll be adding up a few more dancey tunes. I like lively tunes as much as I do the slower, mellower ones. I'll come up with playlists sometime.
Hmn...I'm still thinking of going on a half-day-ish thing today at the workplace. I definitely am still not sold out to the idea of training in my field or something like it.
