I kind of wonder if it could be some herding instinct. One of the times she did it, another class member (Drake, the border collie) did the SAME thing right next to her. And then suddenly the two of them threw themselves backwards like the hounds of hell were after them. Weirdest thing we've ever seen and Drake's person and I couldn't figure out what happened. The horses must have done SOMETHING to freak the two dogs out because they did the same thing at the same time.
I swear the horses didn't even MOVE. But they had to have done something that freaked out the dogs.
The horses there are very used to dogs around. The barn is right next to where we do agility, the horses are in the fields right near there, and sometimes come into the place we do agility. They're pretty dog savvy I'm sure (even Tina said our dogs stalking them and barking at them wouldn't faze them at all).
