Trip to the doggy mall!

Oct 11, 2009 16:28

I took Dahlia out to the Doggy Mall today (Petsmart, Pets Supplies Plus) to get some more food. We came back with a bunch of awesoem stuff: besides chicken chips and duck and sweet potato treats, we also got a bunch of canned food: Some stuff by Evanger (whole chunks of beef and pheasant, nothing else bot those in it!) and Merrick (various kinds ( Read more... )

It doesn't seem to be bothering her. It's just pink. The last time she injured her nose in that same spot, it did eventually black over (first it turned white and then eventually became black again), but it was a smaller scrape, I hope this one heals up. She looks weird with the pink splotch on her all black face! lol

Sophie had a little round spot on her nose a few weeks ago. It was perfectly round, and I wondered if it was a bug bite or something. It never looked red, and today we both noticed that her nose looked like it was healing. The skin was black again and the fur was growing back.

Mom's Roxie had the same thing on her nose - the result of overenthusiastic bone-chewing - it took only a few days to heal and a couple weeks to turn black again. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you like stew style food, try Weruva if you can find it.

Also Homestyle by Nature's Variety is a good dog stew.

My boss is the cousin of the owner of Evanger's... it's local here in Chicago, so it's neat to hear of it being found elsewhere. :3

Our local Pets Supplies Plus has AWESOME stuff. The Evanger's cracked me up because it's called "Hunk of Beef" and it was exactly that. Just a big chunk of beef. It looked much like our pot roast we ate tonight! lol

I'll check out Nature's Variety and Weruva if I can find them.

it looks like it's healing pretty well, actually. Like others have stated, it might never be black again, but it doesn't look infected either, which is a good thing (duh, right?). At least it's on her nos and not, say, on her pads. Then you might have infection to deal with. :-P

funny thing: K adores petsmart. Because there's puppies! everywhere! IN A STORE! coolest thing ever, apparently.

Though I haven't been in one since Precious, and am not sure I could bring myself to go back yet. :(

I can imagine that it would be hard. *hugs* K is the exact kind of kid I always hope to meet at Petsmart. Today I met a girl who seemed totally freaked out by Dahlia's mere presence. *sigh*

It's definitely not infected and I've been putting a dab of Neosporin on it to make sure it doesn't get that way. I do hope the black comes back. :-( I hate the pink splotch on her pretty face!

Dear Stupid Parent: if your kid is scared of dogs, why did you bring her to a pet store where there will be dogs? You deserve a facepalm. Here.

::facepalm::

god, I hate people somedays.

God seriously. I'm sure they were coming in to pick up cat food or something for a bird or guinea pig or something. But STILL...

And why let your kid STAY afraid of dogs. That kills me. Why foster that in your child? They're GOING to see dogs, no sense letting them be frightened. Cautious, yes, but frightened, no.

The third picture down - it looks like she's saying "No pictures, please!".
