only training could keep me up this late. last night i was in my bed at the same time that tonight's workout started. yep, a nice and easy triathlon club swim starting at 10pm. i'm so not a night person and today was a little slice of hell. well, not really but it was kinda crappy.
it started off good. i got up and did some yoga, ate breakfast, and read the newspaper... this is my new morning ritual 3-4 times a week. i love it. i feel grounded and good about myself after i do this stuff. then off to work i was for 9:00. i was looking forward to today because i was supposed to be off at 2:00, giving me lots of time to relax before going to a workshop with the ses and then a tri club meeting and then workout. however, when i got to work my manager was super stressed because the other two girls who were supposed to work called in sick. that meant we were 2 short. on most days this wouldn't be the end of the world, but today we had tons of catering orders. we fed 150 people before 12:00. plus, we had a really steady afternoon. so they asked me to close (that meant staying until 5:30) and i really had no other choice. i'm still pretty slow at closing so i got out at 5:30. that's when the workshop started. so i skipped it. i could have went, i really could have. but i really need to get into the habit of taking time to myself. and i was burnt out after such a crazy day. so i sat at home, ate food, and watched house. it was nice.
so off to the tri club meeting and swim. the swim was 2200m:
300m warm-up
8x50 kick - alternating fly and flutter kick
3x400m - 100m non-free, 200m free, 100m non-free
4x50m cool down - breathe every 3, 4, 5, 6
it was good. my first swim workout in over 3 weeks. being that late actually might work out all right. hopefully, anyway.
triathlon,
work
