Berrrthday news and a comic

So I had my 23rd birthday. On September 23rd. I was excited for that day because my Aunt Chris calls it your "Golden Birthday"; when the age you're turning occurs on the same number of day you were born. I had a huge plan all set up so I could enjoy it. I don't usually make plans for birthdays and I wanted to change things up. I wanted to invite as many friends as I could to a lunch at Latif's so that I could enjoy the company of my friends. I would pay for everything so that nobody could say, "But, Tom, I have no monies!" The night before my birthday was when Katie and I went to go see Massive Attack in concert. They've been my favorite band since I was a wee tyke and I finally had a chance to see them live. They were playing in Berkeley and, despite getting us lost on the way there, we were able to make it in time to see the end of DJ Shadow opening. It was a very good night. A good start to my birthday.

Except the next day, the actual anniversary of my birth is when it all went wrong. Katie and I woke up to find that someone stole $200 from us. There went my lunch money (HA!) and my hopes of having a magnificent birthday. I didn't even have gas money to get to Napa, where I had planned to spend the night in order to see my aunt, uncle and cousins. I was devastated and so were all my friends. Luckily, Geoff payed for everything and it saved the lunch. I sold some movies back to Best Buy and had enough money to get us to Napa. The day was saved.

It's been eventful. I have 25 hours worth of work lined up for me and only two days to do it in. Hopefully my weekend will be fun.

To commemorate my money being swiped from me, I made a comic. I need any excuse and this one formulated with a talk I had outside with Adam, and it comes from a real life event. But THIS time I have God on my side. Probably because I wrote the comic. Enjoy!
