Interested in weird and wonderful creatures? Like to know more about strange animals in remote locations around the globe?
If so, a talk by cryptozoologist Jonathan Downes at Wokingham Library could be just what visitors want. Jonathan will be talking about his search for unknown creatures around the globe. Jonathan is a founder member of the Centre for Fortean Zoology, arguably the world’s fastest largest professional scientific organisation dedicated to cryptozoology, the study of unknown animals.
As well as a cryptozoologist, Jonathan is an author, film-maker, journalist, composer and singer-songwriter, with a background in radical politics and mental health care. He is director of the Centre for Fortean Zoology and author of a number of books on UFOs and other Fortean subjects.
He has searched for monsters in Loch Ness, pursued sea serpents and birdmen in Cornwall, chased big cats across West Country moorland, and in 1998 went to Latin America in search of the grotesque vampiric Chupacabra.
The talk will be held at Wokingham Library on Thursday April 14 at 6.30pm, charge £2. Anyone wishing to book a place should call the library on (0118) 9781368
