Is not active? zhivoi March 12 2010, 01:31:13 UTC
I think that "extincted" is correct in this situation.

It is a passive form, not active. This animal was exincted because of human activity, it did not want to exinct actively.

Nope, sorry. Extinct is the adjective. It's correct to say "extinct cat" just like you would say "orange cat". :)

But neat entry all the same.

Except that "extincted" is literally not a word. It appears in no dictionary that I can find evidence of.

Yes, of course.

It is not a main form of the verb, it should not be in dictionary.

it's not ANY form of the word. It's just simply NOT a word.

it should be zhivoi March 12 2010, 04:10:53 UTC
It must be.

Imagine, if this animal is extinct, it should the verb to describe what has happend with this animal.

t would be very strage if this verb does not exist in english.

It just doesn't. And I'm pretty sure that all forms of the word would be in the dictionary whether it were an adjective or a verd. And it's neither. Because it's nothing .
