last night I saw these guys
It was quite good, very swing danceable. They were supporting their Down in New Orleans CD, which is more my style than their usual straight-up gospel. At the concert I was kinda shocked at the heavy presence of the "can I get a witness"-ness, but ok I shouldn't have been if I'da googled them but then I might have not gone, but I like gospel so dunno I mighta gone anyway. It woulda been sad to have skipped it cus yep, it was a down right rip roarin' good time.
I got chatted up afterward by the manager(?) cus well an hour or so of people singing with southern US accents I pick them up. Both sets of Grandparents drawled when they were alive, so I pick it up y'all. And really people with a US southern drawl are sparse on the ground here so... He wanted to know "Where y'all from?" Which is always difficult to answer. After this he asked "Where y'all get food somewhere at this time of night?" Which I gotta say is THE question musicians on tour want to know plus or minus the y'all, but still. So I took my best guess, but I am still haunted by the fact that I don't know this. Ok internets, where in ChCh does one eat after 10pm on a Wednesday?
