Uber-nerdy post about Dragon*Con
Kicking the cosplay up a notch this year and attempting three costumes!
Starman (Jack Knight version, from DC Comics)
My costume from HeroesCon 2006, not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
I need to do some repair work on my cosmic rod (*snicker*), and I'm not sure if those cloths fit me anymore (as I realize it is now too late to loose weight for the con), but even if I flake out on the other other two, I will be Starman.
Death Eater (from Harry Potter, natch! Not sure which one...maybe Yaxley?)
I couldn't help myself and bought this (and a wand) from BuyCostumes.com. I need to find some gloves and probably some new black pants. What kind of shoes does a Death Eater wear anyway? Also, a dark mark temporary tattoo would be HAWT!
Doctor Byron Orpheus (from Venture Bros.)
Also got a red smoking jacket from BuyCostumes.com. Need to pick up a pair of pinstriped pants from Target (thanks for the tip planetx!) and, again, figure out the shoes. I'll probably go sans-cape, but I will try to find or replicate the gold medallion-cross-thingy. Maybe I should look for a bluuuue windbreakerrrr!
How I'm going to fit three costumes in with the work stuff I'll be doing (panels, interviews, filming, etc.), I'm not sure.
Let me know if you're going to D*Con and doing the costume thing too! We can be giant nerds together!
