Screw you, world.

So, in addition to dentist bills, needing to get a new car and some other possible bad news that I need to confirm with my parents... This morning my roommate told me that she's moving out. Yeah, that's just wonderful.

So now I've either got to find a new roommate, or find a new place to live. I'd been wanting to move, eventually, so I think I'm probably going to wind up doing that... but I kind of have to choose one or the other pretty quickly. And of course the whole apartment hunting process is a pain in the ass, then the actual act of moving on top of that. And it's even worse because the office I'm working in is going to be moving, but there hasn't yet been a firm decision on where we're going to move to, which makes it that much harder to figure out where the hell I should even be looking.

Oh, yeah, there's also that whole 'Christmas' thing rapidly approaching. I guess I just need to take a few deep breaths and try to think of this as an opportunity to upgrade my living situation. You know, instead of as an unexpected aggravation that is going to make it take even longer to get my finances in order.

Alternatively, I could try to stick it out here, hoping I wind up with a good roommate. But I'm still going to want to move on at some point, which means any incoming roommate is going to wind up having to find someone else, perhaps a year from now. And I have to make the decision pretty damn quick, since the lease requires 60 days notice of moving out (not that my roommate is respecting that), so once it gets into December that'll then wind up putting me on the hook into February.
