Lately I've been thinking of almost nothing but the plot to a longish comic I have yet to draw. For the last several months I have been doing research and sketching the characters, but now I have too much plot (40 pages worth) and I won't make the deadline unless I cut out most of it. How do I do that without making it totally confusing? I wish I'd taken a few more writing classes in college. I've been reading loads of Tezuka to try and absorb some of his mojo, but seeing as he loves the epic plots that might be playing against me in this instance. Maybe I can get one of those books on screen writing or something. Or maybe I should make comics all the time and get good at writing them. *sigh*
Recent activities include:
1) Watching shows with Madeleine (yay!)
2) BBQing with the Lava Punch folks (yay!)
3) My car getting hit by a bicycle in Mountain View when a passenger of mine was getting out and then that cyclist was all like, "It's your fault." And I was thinking, "Who the hell bikes into the passenger side door while it's ajar in a downtown area next to a railroad station? It should be frickin obvious that people are getting in and out!" but I actually said, "Are you alright? can I give you a ride to a bike shop?"
anyways... SLIDE SHOW!
Jenni's taken to walking around with a doll. People either think it's cute or they think it's creepy. Either way, Jenni wins. Also, she totally made all of the doll's dresses.
What does this Kanji mean?
I've been eating out quite a lot at a Japanese restaurant called Yume Ya. It's not strictly a sushi shop and has things I desire like Onigiri and Okinomiyaki. It's in Sunnyvale right next to the Trader Joe's I've been shopping at for years and yet I never noticed it. > - < D'oh!
I also got a brown rice onigiri at Homa's brown rice sushi! As we were leaving, Jenni noticed that the kid working the cash register was sketching customers and I was among the faces. I need to shave.
