Certificates

I never thought much of those little bits of paper that engraved one's achievements to tell the world by. Call me idealistic but I never thought much of those bits of paper because I'd always firmly held onto the belief that it was the experience and what you've learnt from it that really counted.

Obviously, potential employers do not agree with my view. After a night of battling with my scanner which decided to act up, I've finally gotten my documents from SPM onwards scanned. Being the forgetful organised person I am, I'd forgotten that I'd put all the odds and ends of random certificates I'd collected over the years in a separate envelope, that I came across while clearing the study room the other day. Knowing that I was sure to need it and as a pre-emptive measure to save myself the hassle of hunting for it yet again later on, I carefully put that envelope into the file with all my other academic certificates. Except that forgetful me forgot about that little detail. So last night, while scanning my documents, I vaguely remembered that I had an envelope with one or two important academic certificates and some other not so important ones. I then proceeded to turn the study upside down. It was only after an hour when I'd had enough and was dejectedly scanning the rest of my documents in, that I found them. In the envelope, which I'd so carefully put into the file to save me the hassle of hunting for it. Go figure. *smacks head* Doh!

Guess it's time to whip out my palmpilot and dust it off.
