Holiday.. what holiday?
Term resumed on Monday.. the last few days have felt very long, and it's as if we'd never broken up for hols. And a nice big welcome back kick in the head, serves-you-right-for-not-doing-any-work-for-one-month slap came in the form of 把字句. It was a bewildering first day back, coupled with the teacher announcing that he was only going to speak in Mandarin and we were supposed to ask our questions in mandarin too! Needless to say, that failed spectacularly after a few brave attempts at asking questions. By break time, the whole system had broken down and even the teacher started explaining the stuff in english because none of us could understand what the heck he meant.
After Wednesday's class (with our presentations on 把字句), all of us felt battle-weary.. and it was as if, we'd never broken up for hols. So things are back to normal.. Monday and Wednesday's classes are extremely hard, and we spend Tuesdays and Thursdays nit-picking over grammar. I love Friday classes.. it's a good wind-down and the teacher's more fun.
