Been way too long since posting. Sry. Too little time. This is an awesome school, still is. We learn so much, and the work is very fun much of the time. But sometimes it just feels like I haven't been properly rested for weeks or months, and I haven't got time for these stupid winter holidays most other people for some reason seem to be preparing for. I haven't given any thought to gifts or anything and argh, leave me alone dammit. Doesn't look like the work load will become any less after New Year's either, as far as I can tell.
Just after the holidays, we shall hand in and present some stuff (written, painted and built) in order to pass the art/design history course. The guy who gave the instructions for that task claims that we have had four weeks of unscheduled time to complete these tasks, so that's the approximate amount of work we should put into it. What. What. The computer graphic designers might have had that much -- they get so little to do that they get all bored and come down to our studios to hang out and make idle chitchat and wonder at their copious amount of free time -- but us? No, wtf. Pretty much everyone among the propmakers and scenographers have just gotten started on those tasks, because we have been working until late most evenings to complete those other tasks we've had, so yeah, I guess we have to do those 4 week of work over our 3 week winter holidays. Do the various instructors not communicate between each other at all, or do they just think that it is alright according to the official curriculum to expect us to work 12 hour days 7 days a week? What. >_<
*deep breath* Sorry for the rant. Probably shouldn't complain. I am very happy here -- for several reasons ^^ -- but I getting very tired.
Have made a few things while here that I would have liked to show off on DeviantArt and here, but I haven't gotten around to photographing them properly, much less posting online. (Well, that, and several of the niftier things are still works in progress, even though the scheduled time is out, so we'll have to sit up even later at night if we're to ever finish them. Argh argh argh.) But I think the thing that takes the most time for me is really thinking of what to write, so I think I'll make a rather unverbose photo dump in a while. Later tonight, or maybe tomorrow.
Right now, I shall go take a quick shower, eat something, and then maybe some more sketching and staring at Byzantine saint icons. I'm telling you, as much as I have been doing that today, it is a miracle that I have not been completely indoctrinated. Not that it isn't Δόξα ἐν ὑψίστοις Θεῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς εἰρήνη ἐν ἀνθρώποις εὐδοκία. Ὑμνοῦμέν σε, εὐλογοῦμέν σε, προσκυνοῦμέν σε, δοξολογοῦμέν σε, εὐχαριστοῦμέν σοι, διὰ τὴν μεγάλην σου δόξαν.
