Ok I think I'm going to make this a series of mini stories that are all related to each other. Though this is the 2nd story written it is actually the first one in the series.
I hope you enjoy.
Takamiya was in a mopey mood. Despite the smile that was plastered on his face you could tell he was sad because he didn't have the spirit in his step that he normally did. Takamiya sighed as he got to his door. He set the groceries down and searched his pocket for his keys. Izumi still had class so he wouldn't be home just yet. Takamiya smiled genuinely when he remembered how he had asked the boy to move in with him over a year ago. Izumi was reluctant at first but the fact that his place was a lot closer to the college helped persuade the boy. Since then they have had ups and downs in their relationship. Izumi had come to terms with being gay but public affection was still a no no. Takamiya wondered if the boy would ever truly get over it. After opening the door he carried the groceries into the house setting them down on the kitchen counter. Takamiya made himself a cup of tea and sat down for a quick rest. He thought about the phone conversation he had just earlier this morning from his employer.
"Takamiya and Izumi residence," Takamiya said cheerfully as he answered the phone.
"Hello Takamiya-san, I have more work for you. Are you ready for a trip?" said a sweet voice over the phone.
Takamiya sighed it was his editor she often looked for more things for him to translate, "A trip you say? Where and what might this be about Shira-san?"
The sweet voice said, "Have you ever heard of Mr. Yuki Eiri? He's a romance novelist and he wants the best translator we have to help him release his stories in English. And that would be you Takamiya-san." Switching between English and Japanese as she talked. Takamiya often wondered if she knew she did that when she talked.
"Yuki Eiri, huh, Romance novels, I'm not really keen on traveling at the moment, is it absolutely necessary?" Takamiya asked hoping he wouldn't have to leave Izumi alone.
"I'm sorry Takamiya-san but Mr. Yuki strictly stated that he wanted to talk to the translator in person before he approved them. If you aren't up to it I can ask someone else," she stated matter-of-factly. She knew that Takamiya would never turn down an offer from her.
The wheels in Takamiyas head turned as he though, "How long would the trip be?"
Shira smiled on her end of the phone, she knew she had him. No more then a week Takamiya-san. Mr. Yuki said he would pay for everything and all the arrangement are just waiting for your approval. You are to leave tomorrow morning and come back one week."
Takamiya sighed he knew Izumi would be mad at him but work was work. "Ok, Shira-san, Get everything ready and I'll pick up the info while I'm out doing my errands."
After that Takamiya had been busy packing and making arrangements to make sure everything was taken care of before he left. He just finally got home from the grocery store. He would leave Izumi enough money for take-out food but he wanted to make some simple meals that Izumi could microwave. Takamiya was in the kitchen making all kinds of things for Izumi as well as their dinner for that night.
When Izumi got home he saw the bag by the door and his brow furrowed. What was Takamiya up to? He heard dishes clanking around in the kitchen and he made his way there after taking off his shoes and putting his backpack in the living room. The amount of food that was on the stop and counters made Izumi's eyes bug out of his there was enough food to feed them both for over a week. Now he knew there was something wrong? "Tadaima Takamiya. Umm...what's with all the food?"he asked not sure if he wanted to hear the answer.
Takamiya turned around when he heard Izumi, "Okaeri Izumi. The food well, I'm going to need to talk to you about that." Takamiya motions for Izumi to sit down and gave him a cup of tea. Takamiya started shoveling food in the plastic containers he had bought and then served them dinner. Takamiya sighed and said, "I need to go away for work for a week and a half and I leave tomorrow."
"Tomorrow are you kidding me and for over a week," food flew everywhere as Izumi talked. Takamiya didn't leave often for work but he always missed him when he did.
Takamiya flinched when he saw the mess Izumi was making but he knew the boy would be upset. "Don't worry Izumi, I took care of everything. There's money in the tin on the counter if you need anything and I prepared enough meals to last you while I'm gone. Just pop them in the microwave and heat them up."
Izumi was upset and he finished his meal in silence. He didn't want Takamiya to leave him. He wasn't sure he could be without him for that long again. After living with Takamiya for a year he had grown accustomed to having the man around. They hadn't been intimate in a while and he was hoping to come home to a perverted Takamiya. A leaving Takamiya just put a damper on his mood though. Izumi got up and washed his dishes and left Takamiya in the kitchen. Takamiya sighed, he had purposefully let Izumi be for the last few weeks in hopes that the boy would jump him but he saw that it wasn't going to happen. Maybe after some time away the boy would be ready. He grinned at the idea but he was still sad to leave his Izumi.
Izumi was doing his homework for his classes in the living room when he entered it. Takamiya had double check everything and he was ready to leave in the morning. However he was hoping to have some cuddle time. Izumi completely ignored him and it broke his heart to see the boy that way. Izumi put his things away a little while later and got up to go to bed. Takamiya was sitting in a chair reading so he put his book up and followed him to the bedroom.
Izumi was hoping the man wouldn't attack him, he wanted it but then he didn't, he didn't know what he wanted. Takamiya grabbed the boy from behind and stood there hugging the boy. Izumi relaxed in the strong arms that held him. He would surely miss him. Takamiya didn't want to let go of the boy. He was going to miss him so much. Turning Izumi around he cupped the boys chin and kissed him gently, pulling back he said, "I'll only be gone a week, love and I'll call you every night, ok?" Izumi only nodded his head a bit. Takamiya steered them toward the bed. They laid down together, Takamiya pulled Izumi toward his body and they laid there spooning. Neither of them spoke for a while. They just laid there enjoying the feel of their bodies pressed together. Takamiya could feel sleep taking him and he whispered in Izumi's ear, "I love you Izumi. I will miss you so much while I'm gone." He felt Izumi move his body closer to his and they snuggled closer. As the world began to fade into a distance he heard, "I love you too, Takamiya....miss you..."
End.
