laugh at my obsurdity

Now normally, I gloss over the little obstacles in everyday life- but the past few days add up to something worth sharing.
My roommate is an interesting one. Honing in on one defining characteristic is the necessity to listen to every NHL Sabres game online in our room no matter what the hour. That being said, this Sunday she went to bed around 3am. For some reason I just couldn’t manage to slip into sleep, even though I was in bed before midnight. So around the time she went to sleep, I decided to get up and work on my mid term papers in the kitchen/living room.
I walked to work, getting there just after 9am and put in a solid two hours before I had to walk to Faraday House for my one Monday class. I walked up the stairs and got to the door of my classroom where a note was posted right at my eye level. The class was cancelled for the day. A wave of overwhelming joy along with a tinge of aggravation rushed through me- probably something to do with the redbull… so, I turned on my heel and headed straight back to work (with a few detours along the way for adventure’s sake).
I returned to my flat earlier than usual, around 7:30 and attempted to finish up my paper discussing the role of self-regulation in London’s advertising industry (really intriguing stuff…) but the second redbull had already worn off- so I went to bed early, before 11, and set my alarm for 3am to give me ample time to clean up my paper and even do a little extra research if needed.
The alarm went off at 3am, and by 6 I had finished a redbull and my paper. At 8:30 I headed to Faraday House to print out and turn in my masterpiece.
I walked into my classroom for advertising 5 minutes early and noticed a black briefcase on the front desk with a laptop hooked up to a projector. My professor doesn’t bring a laptop to class, nor does he have a black briefcase.
I waited…
9 am… a person I’ve never seen before walked in the door sat down in the back row of the classroom, promptly falling asleep.
I walked out of the classroom, bag one hand coat in the other. I had just mixed up my advertising class with my accounting class. I had swapped my Tuesday morning class with my Wednesday one! Luckily, I had finished my accounting analysis last week, but it was at my flat! I made straight for my flat and grabbed my work, went back to Faraday, turned it in and now I am free of papers and only slightly sleep deprived! This has been one of the best midterm weeks yet!
I have one more report to finish, but it is to be turned in electronically- so I’m safe there. Good times all around- a slightly rough start to the week, but quite amusing in hindsight.
