The reason(s) why I love Fandom.
To me Fandom is a place were you literally can do anything you want. We just know no boundaries and I'm not even going so far as to say that this is always such a good thing, but the feeling of it remains.
Fandom doesn't make any sense, it's pointless, it's fun. It's like a huge neverending party where you're just happy and do what you like, squee like a 13-year-old over a picture of your favourite pairing, actor or a cute scene in a Fanfic, and have hours of discussions about stupid things like the character's hair in the current season or how character x and character y are the most epic OTP ever.
But I also love Fandom because at the same time it matters and is so very important and one moment the death of your favourite character is the end of the world and the next you're reading/writing fic about how he/she isn't dead after all.
I love how in a life that is from time to time just so frightfully dull, in Fandom there's always something going on. There are new pictures, new fics, new conventions, new videos, new fanarts, silly gossip or just a awesome quote to get nuts about. And everything feels so crazy and you can't help yourself but laugh out loud or going into a fit of 'OMG I just love this!'.
I also love that nothing ever really lasts in fandom. You love, then hate a character/pairing, at one moment one particular actor, fanart, fic is the best thing that ever happened to this planet and the next moment there's something/someone else which/who is even better, more fun or just equally amazing.
Amazing, I love how I can't stop myself from using all those word of excitement like AWESOME, EPIC, BRILLIANT, BEST THING EVAR or simply GREAT. And I love how this seems strange to the people in 'RL' or people on the internet who aren't that much of a Fangirl/Fanboy.
Fandom sometimes sucks to. Sometimes for exactly the same reasons I love it so much, sometimes for the wank or some assholes who think they're cool when they tell you that everything you like is stupid, immature and a waste of time.
But you know what? I even love that - somehow.
I'm just rambling. But you can never talk enough about the things you love anyway. So who cares?
