XD;; Sadly, looks like the new chapter isn't done yet - I had to work super late and it killed my soooooul >.<# So, it's the weekend after all XD;

As far as Alfons goes in that fic - well, he winds up as Heimunculus in the end, and I know a lot about Heimunculus, so XD;

1) Heimunculus is a lot like Alfons with a much nastier temper - Envy's rage still lurks there under the surface. If he does meet with Ed and Ed attempts to deny him for Al (ie, protect Al by attacking Heimunculus), Heimunculus would be furious and think it appropriate, in the moment, to counter by attacking Al out of spite. Scary!

2) Heimunuclus doesn't really want to be mean though - in fact, he very much craves affection. Envy never got much of that while he was alive, and he (and Alfons) are both starved for it. They like to try and sit on/near Ed a lot, hoping he'll pet on them.

3) Heimunculus retains some of Envy's superhuman strength/agility, but can't master the transformation part. Ultimately, there is more Alfons there than there is Envy - Envy was a construct without a soul; Alfons was fully human. Alfons also doesn't want his Envy-side to take control, so he suppresses him, which is also part of it.

aww, no chapter. :( Too much work sucks. If it eats your soul, demand heimunuculus from it in return. (cryomunculus?!?) Dx;
