Klaus grazed his thumb lightly over the cut on Caroline’s cheek before letting out a delighted chuckle.
“You really should at least try to fight back, little doll,” he said.
“Why? She’ll still win, she’s much stronger than I am,” Caroline replied somewhat pitifully and Elijah rolled his eyes. However fond he may be of the baby vampire, she needed to toughen up when it came to Katherine. He had seen firsthand how tough Caroline could be and it was pathetic that she allowed Katherine to walk all over her.
“Shall I take care of her for you, little doll?” Klaus asked as he now used his thumb to trace Caroline’s lips.
“Klaus, she needs to learn how to fight her own battles,” Elijah said with a hint of disdain in his voice. He was slowly growing tired of Klaus coddling Caroline, especially since she didn’t need to be.
“But I liked it when you fight them for me. It’s fun and Katherine makes lovely little noises,” Caroline smiled.
Elijah shook his head and walked over to Caroline, titling her chin up.
“You, my dear, are as wicked as Katherine,” he smiled before giving her a kiss.
“I doubt that,” Katherine replied with a smirk. She leaned against the doorframe with her back, propping one long, bare leg up and made sure to give a teasing glimpse of her thigh.
“You’ve been a bad girl again, Katerina,” Klaus scolded as he walked over to her.
“You love it,” Katherine laughed, her dark eyes flashing with mischief.
“I do,” Klaus agreed as he lifted her up, those long legs wrapping around his waist.
Elijah’s fingers massaged Caroline’s scalp while they watched the other two vampires go at it.
“Come, Elijah. We must deal with our wayward girl,” Klaus commanded.
Caroline watched the three walk away, not bothered by the attention Katherine was about to receive. She knew they preferred her, even if she was just a pawn in their little game.
