Boxes boxes everywhere

Today I spent the day packing. And we ran out of boxes. And Ariel came home with a sore throat. And Trevor had a weird rash that seems to have been an allergic reaction and is going away and doesn't really match scarlet fever but his teacher sent me an email that said one of the kids in class had scarlet fever. And I feel like a bit of a bad mother for not really watching the rash and just putting calamine lotion on it and hoping it would go away. And it is. And now Ariel has a sore throat and I am thinking "omg, strep because that kid in Trevor's class with scarlet fever" and I gave her tea with raw honey and hoped it would go away.

And we ran out of boxes so I took the kids out and got more. And I finished packing most of everything and it looks like the inside of the house needs a laxative of movers to come and help get rid of all this shit.

And Ray is all in DC eating dinner with customers and watching a hockey game and I am packing and at home and overwhelmed and it's messy and Trevor has a rash and Ariel has a sore throat and the dog is getting meds for an ear infection and Meteor had a vet appt today and I packed all the glasses and couldn't even get a drink of water until I found a glass hiding in the dishwasher. And I sat at my kitchen table, with my head in my hands, feeling sorry for myself and wondering what we're going to eat for dinner...

And and and.. And Rachael came up with her blankie piece and stood near me silently for a second, then hugged me. And I hugged her back for a long long moment and I felt a little better. I love my quiet little introverted girlie.

moving, rachael
