I have been so busy lately it's been crazy. But isn't that just the usual. I only have a couple minutes and don't really know why I am updating. I keep thinking I will get rid of LJ, but there are a few blogs on here I read regularly and so I am loathe to actually give it up. There's also a journal from someone who doesn't update very much at all and I wish she would update more because I miss reading about her kids, garden and dog and she isn't on facebook to keep up with. *sigh*
So baseball season is about wrapped up. Trevor had his playoff game yesterday and they were ahead. They played REALLY REALLY well the whole game. Great plays, great hits, all around "edge of your seat" excitement. There was a different feel for this playoff game than any other game this season because it was so competitive and we were playing a good team and we were AHEAD! Then out pitcher accidentally hit one batter and she walked. The bases were loaded, the game was tied and it was two outs. Then out pitcher accidentally hit the NEXT batter! If you hit the batter, he walks. So he walked, the guy on third walked home and we lost the effing game! OMG. Everyone was so upset (Im sure the pitcher was, too). Trevor cried. But, to almost beat that team was a feat in and of itself. So I was really proud of them. We had a good season. So now my life isn't given over to baseball. Ariel has one more Tball game and that's it.
Rachael ended her soccer season and, because it is basically the T-ball of soccer (no score keeping, short games, no goalie, etc etc), her season ended pretty low key. She gets into the all girls league next season and the competition ramps up a bit. We'll see how she does there. She wants to stay in soccer.
I ran outside today for the first time. And I LOVED it! It was coolish this morning. Must have been high 60s. Ray got paged and so wasn't going to work out. So I finished my ab video then grabbed Rez and decided to go for a short run just to try it out. A couple days ago I was taking Rez on his 3 mile walk and abut 1/2 mile home I got a HUGE PAINFUL blister on my heel. The only thing that helped with the pain was a slow jog. So I jogged home. And I liked jogging home. A lot. But the blister also hurt the rest of the day and the next morning. A LOT. OMG. Ouch. And it kept cracking and bleeding. So I got some blister bandaids and tried my run this morning. Running outside, with the hills, was a different experience than the treadmill. Though I can't say it was harder. I did have to stop a couple times and walk during the mile. And I had to down Rez once because he saw another dog and was like "PLAY!" and tried to jerk my arm off. So when we passed them again I downed him and he was fine. I would like to get out more and make longer runs... maybe when Ariel is riding her bike better, though. Otherwise, how would she keep up? Also, I don't think I would feel good jogging Rez more than a mile. Maybe two at most. He's 150lbs now and, though I am not running fast enough to get him at more than a trot behind me, I don't think it's good on his joints to run. Think this could be justification for getting my Aussie? heehee. I want a frisbie/jogging/trick dog. Maybe in the fall. Not that I don't adore my big drooly newfie. OMG he is BEST dog EVER. I adore Rez.
Um, what else is happening? We are ending our Daisy year and I am meeting with Emily today to talk Brownies next year- that is of course if I am not tiedying shirts for field day for Rachael's class. I can't remember what day I am going in. Hm. Ooops. I also bought tomato plants on sale at Whole Foods yesterday. Pineapple tomato, grape tomato and early girl ones. I also got a pepper plant, italian parsley and basil. Now to get pots and dirt for them today and hope I can keep the little things alive. I hope I have enough sun in the backyard. We'll see!
I'm sure I had something of substance to say, but now I have to go dry my hair. heh
