It is sleeting today. Yuck. I need to "briskly walk" one mile for my online gym class. that is hard to do with three kids and this yuck weather and not being a gym member. I want a treadmill so bad!!!!! It's hard to work out because the space I work out in suddenly became smaller in this house- not as much room to do my moves, even a lunge is cut short. *sigh* And right now I am miserable at the thought of going outside in the below 30 degree weather to run around. I am about to ignore my nay saying husband and just get one already. Plus, these hardwoods, while I ADORE them, make it hard to do floor work. I don't have a mat yet because we had carpet in the old house and I just used that. I tried to do crunches on the hardwoods- OUCH. Not fun. *sigh* So I feel like my workouts have been less than stellar since moving in.
We went back to Ikea yesterday- returned some unneeded items and got some needed ones. I got a glass display case for the little things I used to just throw up on the built in bookcase in the old house. We also got lighting for our room and the kids' rooms. Then we got this WAY WAY cool big red hanging light for the kitchen. But it was so hopelessly tangled out of the box than, after spending 30 minutes sitting and trying to untangle the wires, we gave up and decided to switch it out. Honestly, I think it was a bit too big for our room too. It was neat- a big red hanging light. Other random things we got- floor lamp for our living room, a PLANT! which the cats instantly tried to eat when I brought it in. And magazine holders, wastepaper basket, etc. Ikea is HUGE. I mean, HUGE. We were there 2.5 hours and could have spent longer there. I was waiting for Ray to bring the stuff out to the truck and this family walked out with..... a wire whisk. Who goes to Ikea for just a whisk? I thought it was pretty amusing.
This week should be busy. It's our last week getting out of this rental- so it needs to be cleaned and the last of our crap moved out. Ray rented a storage space for our bikes, etc, until we can get the shed built in the back. He is going out of town for a night so that cuts into our time tidying. He did get the last three days of the month off, though, so we can finish everything up in those days. I am teaching Grace Art on Tuesday, have a paper due for Lit, have "gym assignments" (why does that amuse me so much?) due and I need to finish my French assignments. I am a week behind right now. I got the offer to join phi something kappa- some honor society thing for two year colleges. Normally I ignore these offers as I am not interested in college community- I am only interested in getting my degree, not the college stuff that goes along with it. But maybe it offers me some tuition assistance at four year colleges? So I am wondering if I should take advantage.
