Rant about my stove

I went to cook on my new range the other day. 30 minutes later, my ground beef is done, I have my sauce simmering (just making speghetti) and NORMALLY, my water is boiling on the stove so I can dump the pasta in. Water- not boiling. Simmering? Barely. BARELY. But not boiling. Hm. Finally I realize what is happening. Since this is a glass ( Read more... )

I hate techs who don't understand that there's a problem. When I get to that point, I usually ask if there's someone else that I can talk to. I understand this guy was in your house, but still. That's ridiculous. A stove should be able to boil water without you putting a lid on the pot and to ask that you boil less water is insane. You have a family of five!

I mentioned that I had a family of five and I cooked a lot. It's not like I am a hardcore chef or anything, but maybe I just expected more of my range than someone who cooks less? I dunno. I couldn't imagine trying to bring a pot of stock to a boil! It would take all day!

OK. Remember, my kids don't get out until 1:10- we'll be home by 1:30. I don't know if you guys get out earlier than us or not. I will still probably have some boxes laying around. Bring whatever you like, or just yourselves. ;)

Ok after reading this I am never buying a glasstop stove. They sound pretty frustrating!
