I wasn't deliberately staying away. But we're leaving tomorrow, and Ariel was just icky feeling today and, well, it's been just a lazy lazy day. Here's my day, just in list format..
Got up at 7am and started oatmeal, cleaned kitchen and worked out.
Ate oatmeal with kids. Ariel was lethargic and grumpy and acting tired.
Read a few chapters of The Spiderwick Chronicles. Read many other books.
Did the ABC Yoga DVD with the kids.
Came upstairs and showered, dressed, etc.
Ariel wanted to wear her new pants to bum around the house. I nixed that idea and tried suggesting other pants. She would have none of it. She was acting so out of character and exhausted that we mutually agreed she would stay in her jams and would take a nap.
Made beds, put Ariel down for a nap- sat with her while she fell asleep. Kids brought me 3 Life Savers. heh
Came downstairs and finished reading the Spiderwick Chronicles book. Yes, we read the entire book 1 in one morning.
Ate lunch.
Ariel woke and joined us for lunch, still acting tired.
Sent kids outside for a while. Daniel knocked on the door. Sent him around back.
Ariel came in and played with Play Dough while I studied psychology.
Rachael got wonked in the elbow with a baseball bat. Comforted her and she joined me at the table with tea.
Daniel and Trevor came in and were warned they needed to be quiet so I could study.
I finished studying. All of us (Daniel and Trevor included) played Balloon Lagoon.
Ray came home early!!! Trevor has a breakdown because he wanted Ray to pitch the ball to him but he was trying to show off for Daniel (I think) and wouldn't allow Ray to coach proper form and so Ray refused to pitch and set up the tee instead.
Daniel left and we went to the totlot briefly. Then I took the girls inside to finish laundry.
Trevor got over himself and went outside with Ray to practice. He listened, practiced on the tee and Ray pitched it to him. Trevor hit it 90% of the time.
I folded laundry and Ariel fell asleep on the bed beside me.
Ray came in and left to run some errands.
Kids cleaned room and I vacuumed.
Kids watched a Scholastic video while I sat with them and browsed vegan recipes while I waited for laundry to dry.
We all watched a vegan video site showing people cooking food.
Ariel woke up and was variously grumpy and tired still. *sigh*
Ray came home!!! Ate dinner (take out falafel pitas and hummus).
Ran bath for kids, finished laundry. Packed for kids.
Bathed kids. Gave them medicine for various runny noses and coughs. Put them to bed earlyish (Trevor is allowed to read in bed for a while).
Now I am about to head out for a couple easter items. We're packed and ready to go tomorrow.
As for Trevor's baseball playing. The kid, well, I guess he has some talent! I don't watch or play baseball. Ray would like Trevor to play a sport, or at least give it a try. He was athletic in high school. I run from a ball if it is thrown at me and trip over my own feet sometimes. I am like the opposite of athletic. So Trevor was interested in throwing and catching the baseball. He not only has a good and accurate arm to throw (he can throw it right to Ray and HARD!) but he can also hit it when Ray pitches it to him (underhand). Considering he just started hitting the ball for the first time today, that seems pretty darn good. He wants to play in Little League. We might give it a try next spring.
Ariel should be ok tomorrow. She isn't SICK. She just has a nasty cold.
