OK. I need a topic for psychology this year. Same type of deal as last year- doing a research paper. Last year I did problems with the Strange Situation study. This year I kind of want to do something related to culture and parenting, but I need a researchable topic. Any ideas? I need two sources by next week's class so I need to start research this week (one of those sources is the textbook).
I looked at the classes I had done vs. the classes I had yet to do. OMG. There are so.many.classes left. Registration for summer semester starts April 1st and I was looking at classes. Unfortunately, they offer no weekend classes over the summer. I really want to pick up three classes. If I do three classes a semester without a break, I can finish a two year degree in a year and a half. But that might be too ambitious. I can kind of feel my motivation waning just because it's overwhelming to me how much I have left to take with the amount of time I have in a day to study. I also find taking classes in person, rather than ELI classes, is so much less work! I still have to take the math placement test and am thinking of taking some online free refresher type courses, else I place into remedial math. I need to get on that. I need to take the Clep for French so I don't have to start with basic french again. It's like 150 to take the Clep. Ugh. at least it is cheaper than paying for 10 credit hours of classes (basic french 1 and 2 are 5 credit classes each). I should probably brush up on my french, as well. Hm. See. I have a few things to do before I can move on to the other courses. I need to take Biology in person. Maybe I will sign up for that and English this summer. And take the Clep and math placement test. Then Fall maybe I can sign up for math 151, french and psy 211 (online). If I take two in person classes, I am hoping one of them can be on a Saturday so I am not gone two evenings a week. In fact, I'd love some creative one month intensive class. There were a couple over the summer that was one month of 5 nights a week. It's very appealing, except I don't think Ray would be able to be the sole person 5 nights/week. I think it would be lots of studying, too. I'd rather do a month of weekends and have my weeks free.
So really I am just sick of taking classes. I want to be making good progress. Don't get me wrong, I am. Im making good grades and I have cleared both history courses and, at the end of this semester, both psychology courses. If I take Comp II over the summer, I will have cleared both comp courses. But I want that two year so I can start looking into a four year before the kids are 10. I don't know that getting a four year is feasible until the kids are older, but I don't want to be getting a 2 year degree forever. I wonder what my options are for a four year. I can't think about that yet, though. It's too daunting. heh. OK. Off to do laundry.
Today we'll do the library- Trevor wants to research Egypt more and I will grab some books about Babylonia, etc, too. One thing I don't like about SOTW is its focus on wars only. We'd like to learn a little more about life in those times, not just what king was defeating what country/city. How they lived, what they ate, what their legends were, etc. So we'll do that, and.. I don't know what else we'll do. Everyone seems to have awful colds and we leave in a couple days for my parents' house. bleh. I feel like we are always sick when we visit my parents and then end up making them sick. *sigh*
