I don't even know if I fit in anywhere anymore in a fandom I love. See, I'm a freak. I like Dick Grayson and not so much Tim Drake. Tim Drake really seems to be dominating everything lately. His behavior is excused, people want to see him get love even when he responds with anger and cruelty. Dick is right now treated as a nobody at best and a villain at worst. All the slash seems to be directed to Tim. Why is Dick so little deserved of being loved? What is so terrible about Dick? People forget that if Dick had not so connected with the Americna psyche there would not have been a Tim Drake or a Jason Todd. It seems being a nice guy is a liability in fan fiction. It seems the more disturbed and angst filled a character looks or acts, the more writings come out giving that person loved. Sometimes the people that support others need some love too. There are times it seems that the quiet ones are ignored or blamed for any troubles. Why is he now considered so expendable? Is there any more place for Grayson lovers or is the fandom all for Drake and Todd and Bruce? I am old and feel out of it and left out. I wonder if there is any place for Dick anymore, any place for Dick to be loved. Even Roy who was Dick's best friend and lover, the one who loves and understands Dick the most, is being put with Tim and acting as if Tim is superior to Dick. Sorry Dick, been a long fun ride. Guess even Roy is preferred with Tim, heck the whole DCU is preferred with Tim. I'm ranting, I'm depressed, I'm just missing Dick stories where someone loves him, apologizes to him, comforts him but I don't know if there is any room for that anymore. Maybe it would have been better if he'd died, the dead are loved and remembered........
