I'm not quite sure how they've decided that we're to be sharing a room, but if there's only one bed I'd be glad to take the floor.

My best guess would be that they only had eight rooms -- or at least, only eight in whatever state of readiness to be used. But even so, you'd think they'd try to match genders...
