Friday started well, school was fine, then I got home and finished the music video I asked Julie to prom with. Got her roses, she came over and saw the movie, said yes then left for a movie with her mother. I went up to Common Grounds to drink some cafe and hear some music, but the band members locked the car with the keys in it, along with their P.A and one guitar. Quicker the night became boring, tiresome, useless. Now I'm home and I'm too tired to think of something good to enter, therefore I will post my newest poem I wrote. Wrote it last week reflecting that bad friday night whenever ago...Friday nights just aren't good for me. Here it is...
"We Thirst For Poison"
A black curtain, like an evil envelope encasing our joy, has covered us all. I see a secret unravel once the monster of the night takes hold of personality. Secrets lie in the depth of your heart, only the monster has the key in to the vault. Liquid poison conforming inside the glass, it is the object too many hungry hands grasp. It kills me to see friends drown in the poison of our youth. One by one, brothers and sisters fall victims of their inner fears, they…
Fall deeper and deeper, hearing the lullabies of our own cries.
Shrieks of silence are felt throughout, once indulged, now induced. A bottle shatters to the floor; the broken pieces reveal a self portrait of the Devil himself. Under our feet, desperate arms, scarred with suffering and greed are reaching for new victims. High in the clouds, tears are falling; love is neglected from this youth as we…
Fall deeper and deeper, hearing the lullabies of our own cries.
But the monotony of the Monster’s reign can be broken, the chains can be cracked.
The evil seeping through our friends’ skin can run dry. For I have found my better half, I have been gifted with wings that fly me above the black curtain. A soul that trusts, a heart that loves, these are the gifts from him that the poison can not bear. Lift your heads high my friends, let the everlasting light shine in your dark eyes. Faith alone can start anew; the poison can become insignificant once the truth is revealed. Admire each and every opportunity for beauty. I’ll stand with you brother, I’ll be by your side sister, we can win this fight. Resist! Resist! Resist! The decision lies inside your heart, a choice that can uplift you from a dark past; he can uplift you from depression, from sorrow. Each person of our youth can bear wings; will you soar above the black curtain? Or will you be another to…
Fall deeper and deeper, hearing the lullabies of our own cries.
