The Beauty and The Beast.

when I watch beauty and the beast, I catch myself hating the ending.

how he becomes a beautiful prince.
after she falls in love with him.

and I think,

but she loved the beast.
for all his ugliness, and gruffness that had originally terrified her.

what is the message here?

that when we fall in love,
the monster we've grown to love
will transform into the prince we wished for when we were young?

and I wonder,
if sometimes at night....
lying next to her prince
she cries for the beast that she fell in love with.
